Helicopter-Blimp

Ok, here's the deal. Years ago, my father came up with the idea of some sort of Helicopter blimp. When he told it to me, I said to him "That is so lame!". And in my point of view, it was! Why the hell would I put propellers on my Blimp, when I already got some?! Not that the idea is utter usely, it is just simply lame and sort of redundant.

So, the years went by, and a few days ago, he read an article on Yahoo which stated that a machine exactly like the one from his idea was being invented. Instanly, he was in my face "gloating" that he has creative after all (Cause he is always coming up with lots of horribly lame stuff, and me and my brother shoot 'em down almost always). Anyways, I tell him that even though they are making his wacky invention, I still tell him it is lame. Besides, if he is so creative, why didn't he come up with a way to actually make the damn thing? Despite the fact that he lost the potential of making lots of money, he was still happy because he assumed he was "right". Ha. Now he thinks he's Edison.

Summary= Give me your opinion on the Helicopter-Blimp thing. I know I am not crazy. I can tell what is and not is lame any day of the week.

How would it be different from a helicopter? The only advantage it has is staying up in the air a long time, and not using any gas. But yeah. Blimps already have propellers. The only thing that changes is putting an even bigger propeller on it. I mean. WTF? Oh and, I'd take that cool Jet that appeared in Die Hard 4 any day over the Helicopter-Blimp.

Yea, that jet is pretty cool, but the blimp will have the landing ability's of a helicopter and the fuel usage of a blimp.

The reason I mentioned the Jet from Dia Hard 4 was because it had propellers on the wings. That means that it is sort of a Jet/Helicopter craft. The Helicopter-Blimp would be utter slow compared to it, or to most crafts. That is, if we are talking about the big ones. I already mentioned the advantages, and other that that, the Helicopter-Blimp is pretty much redundant. As I mentioned before.
