At my school, although its only middle school, there aren't any real "jocks". In fact, there really aren't cool people, just Norms, people who all know each other like a gigantic group, nerds, and uncool people who still have a butt-load of friends. Right now I'm an uncool person who still has a butt-load of friends. I used to be a nerd.

Hmm ... we had ... the Barbies, Fit Guys (or something like that), Chavs, Scene Kids, and Nerds ... and I dunno what I woulda been, nor do I really care ... was also 'Emo' for a while, but that became Scene when everyone started doing it, and I'm not everyone. >_> ... I was kinda this weird amalgamation of different things really. Heh.
But anyways, even though there was that 'divide' mostly eeryone talked to people from different social groups, say, if they were in a load of lessons together, or had been friends for a long time. So to be fair ... ya didn't really notice the social groups much, but there was a DEFINITE groups of 'popular' kids ... one of my friends referred to our social group as the 'semi populars' I'm not sure why, though. xD I talked to people from other groups, yeah, but there were only a few I'd call true friends. The divide? ... it depends. When it gets to 'warfare' (Chavs vs. Scene Kids, anyone?) it gets kind of ridiculous. And I don't see much point in giving yourself a label that everyone else can already pretty much see. Just like there's not much point in giving someone else a label, or not allowing someone from one social group to hang out with someone from another. I wasn't entirely happy at school, but I wasn't gonna change myself - so why should others?

My school was pretty good for this. There were no Cliques, everyone was pretty friendly to each other and there was never a sense of seclusion.
Apart from the dicks of course, but I hated them anyway. |
