Your mom can leg press 551 lbs?? Dude they don't even make 1lb plates in normal gyms let alone .5 lbers!!

I can do 1200 lbs on the ol' leg press... according to this converter that is 544 kgs.

So that question about where to get weighted clothing was never really answered...

Where would I be able to shop for that kind of stuff? Preferably online.

When I was actually going to the gym consistently, doing 10 reps of 500 pounds wasn't a very big deal. I think my max turned out to be around 800 or so...

A few months ago, I saw Weighted Vests at Wal-Mart. Though, it was only 20 pounds, so I doubt it'll do much (To you at least =/).

I actually wanted it for running, but my dad said that the jumping up and down movement with those extra pounds would grind my leg joints. It's an agonizing thought.

Lately, I've been going to gym. And I really got pissed off when I saw some not-so-buff 12th grader fool curl more than me. The curls are MY thing! So, even though he is two years older than me, it makes me wonder: Am I going to frigging get past the 40 pound (With each hand) limit I am at?

So in response, I'm going to do this: Move on to the awesome 50 pound barrier limit. Even if I can only lift it 2-5 times in a row, I'll do 25 repetitions no matter how long it takes.

I don't see why this should not improve my strength, seeing as it is pretty much the way I climbed up to 40.

Oh, and I got a question: Is it normal that I can curl more weight (Approx 10-20 pounds) with dumbells than using a barbell?

Just in case if you need to know: Since the beginning of my curling exercises, I've been using dumbells.

Weighted Vests are good if you are doing exercises with your own weight(like push up's ), and you wanna make it harder by putting more weight.

I advice against weighted clothing! Please do not use any weighted clothing unless it evenly distributes equal weight throughout your entire torso or legs. Otherwise you can cause joints to slip and become uneven. You don't want one side to favor another.

Pushups and situps would probably be more effective than 3 pound weights. You have to strain yourself to see progress.
