Interesting Experiment

I wanted to share with you guys an interesting experiment.

• There are 5 monkeys in a cage.
• The cage is large enough to contain 5 monkeys and a 4 step staircase with a banana hanging by a string at the top of the staircase.
• One monkey decides to go after the banana.
• Because of the monkeys actions the scientist sprays all of the monkeys with cold water.
• Another monkey decides to go after the banana and they all get sprayed again.
• One more monkey goes for the banana but the other 4 monkeys stop it from doing so by protecting it.
• They replace one of the monkeys with a new one.
• The new monkey goes after the banana and the original 4 monkeys attacked the new one. They did not protect it.
• The scientist takes out another original monkey and puts in another new monkey.
• The newest monkey attempts to take the banana and is attacked by all of the monkeys including the other new monkey.
• They keep on replacing the original monkeys with new monkeys and the same thing would occur. A new monkey would try for the banana and get attacked by all the other monkeys.
• Only the original monkeys where sprayed with cold water yet all of the new monkeys who have no idea why they can't have the banana attack any new monkey for trying. Only the originals protected each other.
• No more monkeys get protected. All of the new monkeys just attack without reason.
• The banana never gets eaten.

This is funny because this experiment explains a lot of different aspects in life. This shows the most basic form of corporate structure. A lot of forums are just like this experiment. We just go with the flow.

Every time a new guy that comes here and tries to go against the flow they will get attacked by the regulars. Even if the regulars leave there will be a different set of "new" regulars who claim that spot and will perform the same actions the originals did.

Those were some quick-to-give-up monkeys. It should take more than a little cold water to get you to stop from reaching your favorite food.

I was wondering the same thing... I think they put some type of bitter fluid in the spray bottle to really scare them. I know when I spray this bitter stuff at my dog for trying to jump on the table she gives up.

It's a pretty cool experiment. Goes to show animals aren't from another planet in comparison to us. They might even be more organized XD We're so complicated.
