I think it's just a shitty medical excuse for someone having a low concentration. I have a low concentration. I can't concentrate on one thing for a while without getting distracted. Do I try to make an excuse by saying I've got ADD? No. I own up to it like a man. I don't make these fucking pansy excuses.

The same goes for dyslexia. You just can't spell. Big deal. Use spell checkers more. It doesn't take a genius. I have trouble reading phone numbers. Am I dyslexic? No. Same thing as above.

Fucking grow up.

My uncle has ADD. I call it a short attention span but whatever.

I'm dyslexic and I assure you, it's not merely spelling errors. It effects verbal speech as well. You get words mixed up and you may arrange the letters wrong even though you know how they're supposed to go.

They're real problems, but they shouldn't be used as a crutch. That also doesn't mean that just because people work through it, it's easy and you should treat them like crap for having the hard time. Everybody has to work through things, and some people are better at it than others. You need to grow up.

To me its basically the concentration level so far under the level of what most people have it needs a name.

People are like that, so what. People aren't equal so why must we need a name for everything different; I agree with most people who are saying it's used as an excuse. Idiots said I had it, thought all I did was to be slightly random and entertain myself.

I say things wrong. When I read out in class (and I do this a lot) I have trouble getting the words in the right order sometimes. I don't use it to my advantage. I don't hate those with the disorder, I just wish they wouldn't use it as such of an excuse. It can be worked through. Of course, some are so severe they can't, but they're rare as far as I know.

Oh god no, don't put them down for it. But what I came across so much in my youth were people saying "Oh I can't do that; I'm dyslexic" and then it was end story for them. THAT was utterly stupid.
