I cannot believe that I'm asking MFG...

I'm not perfect. I'm good with words, but something I falter, I'll admit. I sometimes ask for help. It is rare, but one of those circumstances has come tonight. Here it is. There is a girl that I've been interested in for a very long time. Since my friends are quite unreliable, I've decided I need to pursue her. I only see her once a day. I usually start saying stuff without thinking it through around her. I want to ask her out on a date, or something. I need to come in with a plan. Someone who is good with the ladies (which I'm not, nor is Dark Skywalker, Super Cool, JC#1, so stay out, you three) needs to give me a short, to-the-point way of asking her out without saying, "Hey, wanna go out?" Help a "brother" out, as you kids would say.

Ask her questions. Nothing deep. Just innocent questions. Try not to annoy her with too many but girls like to feel like your interested and asking them about them makes that happen. You can also ask her for a cup of coffee after a few encounters. Nothin wrong with coffee.

Depends. Different strategies are better or worse for different girls. Some girls like the upfront "get to the point" guy. Others like a bit of romancing first.

There is no universal way to get all women on a date...

Do you eat lunch with her?

Are you friends with her friends?

Do you see any signs that she likes you?

If you're friends with her, arrange a group activity that you can invite her on, so it's not so awkward. Like...4 of you going to skate, or see a movie, or whatever. If she doesn't really know you at all, you're destined to crash and burn without building some kind of relationship. If she's already been on a few group activity things with you, find something she likes, get tickets or whatever, and use that to start the conversation and ask her if she wants to go with you exclusively. There is no short way without simply being "Hey, hotlegs, want to hit up so-and-so tonight?". There's a difference between easing into the question and beating around the bush for 15 minutes, though.
