Islam. A very beautiful religion. I loved reading the Qu'ran, very insightful. So you're talking about Islamic fundamentalists. Only 7% of Muslims agree with that point of view, out of about 2 billion. People have, throughout history, used religion as a basis or reasoning to go into/start wars and massacre thousands, sometimes millions. They're called evil. There is such a thing as Satan and he is very powerful. Almost the perfect diversion in order to make religion as a whole look bad. Almost like ghosts, demons "posing" as dead loved ones, so that we will believe there is no heaven or hell. The devils work. Anyway, I think the Islamic fundamentalists are evil and do the devils work, sort of like Hitler. No one is perfect, but some are more prone to the devils ways then others.

I have to respectfully disagree with you on the prophet situation. I don't believe being a prophet is as easy as you say. People are often ridiculed and rejected for their beliefs and prophecies. No one heard of Islam or the Muslim religion until the prophet Muhammad. He was not greeted by blind followers. Religions take time to catch on, if they ever do, and this one was no different. It is stated "Muhammad gained few followers early on, and was largely met with hostility from the tribes of Mecca; he was treated harshly and so were his followers." Many other prophets received the same treatment. You think it's a walk in the park? "Nah, son". In the end what attracts people to prophets is usually the message of hope and change, but also that almost all things prophesied have come to pass.

There will always be radicals, but that doesn't mean everyone is. There are Muslim extremists, so are all Muslims therefore extremists? No. There are thieving blacks, but are all blacks thieves? No. There are money-pinching Jews, so are all Jews cheap? No. A society needs to look at individuals based upon who they are, not what they are. In all honesty, I don't care what you are. If you're cool, I'm cool with you. If you're a dickhead, then you're not worth my time. My best friends are Catholic, Pagan, Jewish, etc. Likewise, I have many black friends. I have Asian friends. I have Hispanic friends. Likewise, there are some that I can't stand. Do I look at them based upon what they are? No, I look at them based on who they are.

I'm not disagreeing with you Island, what I'm saying is, that's the way humans are. When people talk about things like the Holocaust, they group it. The individual is overshadowed by its group. If people were to take the time and realize that 6 million lives; a life is what you are living right now, you would be devastated if you were to watch it being taken away from you. 6 million. Plus 5 million others, just because of the religious or sexually oriented groups they were affiliated with.

Anyway, back to religion. Like I said, I totally agree. My circle of friends could substitute for the League of Nations at a moments notice, and that's because we're all of different ethnicities, and we don't do much.

Hm, I think you misread my post. I wasn't referring to all religious people, just to certain people, the ones who don't think for themselves, take the bible literally and look down on all those who don't.
I for my part am not religious as IMO god is nothing but an alter-ego of humans but I don't want to say I'm right with this opinion. Anyhow, I apologize if it came out wrong.

FYI I think for myself. I read the bible and I also think for myself because the lord gave us freewill. God is the creator. Our savior not some alter ego of his creations.

Well, the church did play it's part during the holocaust. But to be fair, there were a couple of priests who tried to save Jews, the majority however stuck to the deal made with the Nazis and did absolutely nothing.
