Empathy

This summer, probably around late June, I plan on taking a sailboat and sailing along the eastern coast of Florida all the way down to the Bahamas. After buying some common necessities, I'll sail the distance from the Bahamas to the U.S. Virgin Islands. Sometime around mid-July, I'll sail back to this boring town in Northern Florida before my senior year starts up again. A summer of solitude. Who thinks I'll do it? I swear to God I will.

I'm going alone.

to JAIF: Because I'm going alone, I'll only need, maybe, a twelve-foot sailboat, and you can find a used one for as cheap as five hundred dollars. I'm looking for a job right now to save my money. The thing that worries me the most is a storm or high winds. I don't know how to calculate knots or anything, but if I stick close to the Florida coastline, it shouldn't get too bad, until I reach Miami.
