I believe so, Kid's natural weight is around 140 - 145.
![]() I could watch this gif over and over. :) I'm hoping for Fedor vs. Barnett or Sergei but Mirko definitely does not deserve a fight with Fedor right now... |

I wish Zambidis would take his chances in MMA. I doubt Buakaw would because, not only is he decorated enough as a kickboxer, but he relies too much on leg kicks, and there are martial arts that teach the best counters to those and he'd end up on his back a lot.
I'd pay to see Zambidis' MMA debut against someone like "Bang" Ludwig.

Zambidis is best where he is right now. He doesn't have a wrestling or grappling background, let alone his size puts him at a disadvantage. He'd get taken down and submitted with ease, in my opinion. If Buakaw made a transition to MMA, he'd have to be a sprawl and brawler. If he got taken to the ground, he'd be out of his comfort zone much like any other kickboxer. But Buakaw has pretty good balance, there's a chance, with proper training he could pull it off, but I really don't see MMA being in his future.

Only three K-1 stars have succeeded in MMA. Kid - who had the incredible wrestling backgrounds anyways, Hunt and Cro Cop. LeBanner, Choi and Schilt have dabbled in MMA without much success.
Kid's pretty badass despite that GIF. One of the best pound for pound fighters in the world. K-1 level striking complimented with good grappling and olympic caliber wrestling. He beat Genki, who is loads bigger than him by connecting with his right hand alone. I used to follow K-1 till Schilt started continueing to win the Grand Prix based on size alone. Best fight I've ever seen was Hunt vs Sefo with he absolute bombs both of them were taking. Hunt dropped his hands and let Sefo hit him! |

^ Yeah, that was an entertaining fight. Hunt always loves slugging it out.
Anyways, in recent news, Cung Le just defeated Frank Shamrock. Good thing too, I won myself a lot of $$$ from that one fight. Frank should've got Cung to the ground asap, it was stupid of him to try beating him at his own game. He took an onslaught of side kicks, roundhouse kicks, hook kicks, back kicks... until one finally broke his arm. After that, the smile left from Shamrock's face, he stopped taunting, and he knew he was in deep shit, especially after getting beaten in the previous rounds. I believe this was the kick that broke his arm... ![]() Also in other news, Tim Sylvia just left the UFC. And says he wants to fight Fedor. Looks like everyone wants Fedor these days. |

The leg sweep he did on Shamrock was awesome. It was a pretty good fight. I have a feeling Cung Le loses his next fight though. There's just something about him... he's got crazy kicks and pretty good hands, but I don't know. We'll see. Wednesday night is going to be good. Three hours of fight night on top of the TUF debut.

The San Shou leg sweep was one of the highlights of the fight for me as well, Shamrock sure hit the canvas hard.
I'm pumped up for Fight Night and the new season of TUF. Rampage makes anything interesting, it should be good. Plus, the new system where the fighters fight their way to get into the show... that means no more Jason Thacker, Kenny Stevens, Danny Abbadi, Wayne Weems, or Blake Bowman, types of fighters that don't deserve to be there. Also, you still in that Florian vs. Lauzon AV bet? I guess I'm taking Florian, even though I want J-Lau to win. |

And no more Gabe Rudiger's. I'm calling it right now: C.B. Dolloway and Dan Simmler are going to make it far on this season. They are the only two that I've heard of, but Simmler is a decorated BJJ practitioner.
Yeah, I suppose we're still on for that. I'd hate to change my avatar again but I still think Lauzon can win.

I don't really think Florian is underrated. If anything, he's overrated. Everyone thinks he's lightweight contender for the title. He lost to every top 10 lightweight he's faced. His only notable wins are over Alvin Robinson, Din Thomas (who blew out his knee), Sam Stout, and Alex Karalexis. Not too impressive. They gave him big names: Diego Sanchez, Sean Sherk, and Drew Fickett. He lost all three. Lauzon will beat him.

Fickett is also 15 pounds heavier than Kenny, so that fight was out of his weight class. Sherk's his only loss in the UFC at 155, and he's arguably the best UFC lightweight. Kenny took him to a decision too and almost cinched in a couple submissions that could have won the fight. And Kenny's record in the UFC is infinitely more impressive than Lauzon's. Six wins over decent competition is better than one flash KO and a win over a Brandon Melendez. |

Yeah, but I'd take a KO over a former UFC champion than a few mediocre wins over a couple guys who will never fight in the UFC again. Plus, going to a decision with Sherk isn't a great feat. Sherk decisions everyone.

I think Florian and Lauzon matchup quite evenly actually. But I think Florian will take it...but here's hoping I'm wrong because I hate Florian. |

Well Florian won, much to my dismay. However, I did win the bet... Empathy, you'll have to change that LOTR avatar to something less, "dignitatious". I'll PM it to you.
Overall, it was a pretty good event. A lot of stoppages, some things went the way I wanted them to go (Alves > Karo), others not so much (Florian > Lauzon). Tommy Speer got KTFO, which I was hoping for but that "I'm so Krunk" statement from Johnson, definitely toned down the excitement factor... people can say the dumbest things after they win, must be the adrenaline rush. Houston Alexander and Karo, both argued their stoppages (Houston's coming one of the fastest in UFC history), but I believed they were justified... that means no title shot for Karo, bwahahahaha. Tim Boetsch has been exposed, I believed too many people gave into his hype, and last night pretty much summed up my speculations. That night also had its funny moments: -Of course, the ending of the Diaz/Batman fight. Throwing up the double middle finger and then flexing as you choke someone unconscience...priceless. -Joe Rogan interviewing the DEA agents. Did anybody else find it ironic that the Mr. Conduit to the Gaian Mind was sitting in between two drug enforcement agents. I wonder if they could smell the reefer on Joe's clothes. It really felt like Joe was trying to put them on the spot and make em sweat a little. -Showing a special sneak peek of a new video game, Condemned 2, and only showing 3 seconds of the actual game. -When the camera was on Forrest and Hughes... Forrest asked Hughes who the fans were cheering for. And Hughes tells me their cheering for him and they both laugh. Or maybe it was who they are booing at, one of the two. -Rogan mentioning Melendez and Aoki as being some of the top LWs in the world and of course the "rape choke" -Not being able to understand a god damn word that Matt Hamill and Nate Diaz said in their post fight interviews. -The priceless look on Karo's face after getting his face kneed in. It looked like he was gonna cry. -Anthony Johnson proclaiming that he is krunk...definitely krunk. -Drunks in the crowd throwing punches, haha... ![]() And then there was the new TUF. Let's see, new system is a plus, took away some of the weak fighters, never got to know them, so I feel no sympathy. Rampage and Forrest being their typical selves. I'm not really a fan of any of them yet, but I guess that'll come in the upcoming episodes. I loled at the guy falling off the cage after he won, forgot his name. Right now, I see that Dollaway guy winning it all, the way he destroyed his opponent, you know he means business. |

Alves looks like he's improved a shit load since his loss to Fisher. His striking is the best at 170 in the UFC and Karo had trouble taking him down. Add in a solid clinch game and you got a fighter on the rise at 170. And as much as I like Karo, the knee he took and the way he just dropped warranted a stoppage.\
Oh and Empathy, I told you that Florian was no joke. Continueing with that, there has been some strong indications that Florian may fight Huerta in his next fight. Edgar should drop to 145 and go the WEC. He's way too small for 155...Maynard looked twice his size. |
