Roy Scheider (Jaws, Sea Quest DSV) has passed away.

He was 75 years old. He died Yesterday from Multiple Myeloma. A Cancer type.

no, i've never met him in my life. it astounds me that anyone would give a damn about someone they've never met dying, i don't get it.

I meant if you saw him in a film, you'd recognise him.

I'm not exactly grieving (maybe Sloth is, who knows?), but when someone who you have seen on screen dies, it's natural to feel a slight twinge, when you think of enjoyment they may have brought to someone through their work.

I'm always a bit upset when an actor I saw quite often (if only on TV I still saw him) passes away.

I watched Sea Quest RIGHT after Earth 2 every week.
