They found out what is was that caused his death...

It was an accidental overdose of 6 different types of prescription medications he was taking... 2 were sleeping pills, 2 were for anxiety and 2 were for stress or something.

Also it seems as though people cared more about the status of the Dark Knight rather than Ledger's death.
