All I really want for Tenkaichi 2 is Omega Shenron and Online. and if they can do it as a bonus, the can probably add Pan, and all the shadow dragons.

The whole reason people thought Tenkaichi was so bad at first glance was because, Budokai 2, and Budokai 3 just got better. Once we had Budokai 1, it was a good game. People liked it because it was simple and a over all good game.
Then we got Budokai 2. This game had better graphics. Longer story. And fixed some of the errors. Ex. Yellow kamehameha. Then we had the BIG 3. This game was the best. It had a better flight system, more characters, great graphics…etc. This game was the best to date. Then we got Tenkaichi. First off this game had a new title. So people were like "Well the game looks good." So that wasn't a big deal. Then you play the game, and notice the graphics are great, and you are in a bigger arena, so better game play. You aren’t just fighting like flying strait at each other like the other Budokais, you have to lock on and power up. This got people messed up. You had all these new things, and the controls were COMPLETLY DIFFERENT than the original Budokais. So that was what made the game seem so bad. They changed to much stuff, and took out some characters so people just didn't like the game. Please tell me what you think of my "concept" of Tenkaichi. |

I think, SS4DBZMaster's "concept" was pretty good. However, there are somethings I'd like to point out/explain.
QUOTE(SS4DBZMaster @ Jan 18 2006, 04:54 PM) You had all these new things, and the controls were COMPLETLY DIFFERENT than the original Budokais. So that was what made the game seem so bad. They changed to much stuff, and took out some characters so people just didn't like the game. What people need to learn is with time things will change, hence what happened to the new controls. It is quite easy to learn them, all you have to do is go through Piccolo's training(s) to find out what is what. I mean this game is similar to the Wrestling games that come out yearly. 1. There is always new control learnings. Meaning you have to learn the controls again. 2. Superstars are always taken out/added in from year to year. Same thing that happened with Tenka'ichi. 3. They're usually new matches added, like recently the "Fulfill Your Fantasy" and "Buried Alive Match." This would have to do with the new surroundings in Tenka'ichi. And with these changes people don't say the Wrestling games are getting worse year by year. They take the time to learn everything about them. So in my opinion I think Tenka'ichi is one of the better Dragonball Z games out there for the PlayStation 2. The only thing is people have become lazy throughout time that they don't care to go through the trainings.

I agree with you and all, but they made the trainings very boring. In Budokai 3, you got to actually work with the characters, but in Tenkaichi, you had to read and watch. That got boring and thus, not everyone like the controls. |

I agree with the trainings were boring, but the same could be said for the Final Fantasy games, especially 7-9, when you had to read whatever those pig thingies were saying.
Anyway, an easy way to decrease the boringness within the trainings is to listen/watch what is being done in maybe two or three trainings. Next go and duel either someone else or yourself and try to perfect the move you've been taught. Once you've perfected it, and if you fought yourself, then battle the computer to see if you need more practice or not.

Lets see, what all do I say should be in there?
1. Defiantly more characters. 2. Better graphics (What new game doesn't come with better graphics than the original game?) 3. More "arena involvement" such as destroying stuff. 4. Better story line. I hate all the extra CRAP they added to Tenkaichi. 5. Online would defiantly be cooler. 6. How about script lines characters actually used? 7. Better controls. (Tenkaichi controls sucked!) 8. Better fighting system. (Like Budokai 3, where you actually do things, rather than just fight.) 9. Bigger arenas. (Would wouldn't enjoy knocking a opponent across a couple of miles?) I guess I should define them better. 1. ALL DB/DBZ/DBGT characters. 2. They weren’t really needed but, all new games should have better graphics than the ones before it. It would also help with the arena battles. 3. Like being able to hit people with rocks like when Goku was against the mountain and fighting Majin Vegeta, he used the rocks he was chained to to hit Majin Vegeta with. 4. Did anyone LIKE all the extra crap they shoved in there? 5. Online speaks for itself. 6. Having lines that characters used would make the games more "real," than if they used all these extra "things" they shove in there. 7. They were kind of hard to control. But some practice helps, but I still think some of the controls weren’t needed like when you do the R2 + square combo. That wasn't needed in my opinion. 8. That was so boring, having to fight and try to get the DragonBalls at the same time. It could have been better. 9. Speaks for itself. |
