^ Well, the sun's, and stars' in general, behavior has been studied for decades - Many of the chemical reactions have been simulated in laboratories here on Earth, and they know pretty much to the detail what goes on inside a star, and can hence predict it's actions on a timeline.

The meteor is a completely different issue, they're incredibly hard to predict, since the smallest of rocks can cause major damage here on Earth.

Yer, like that fireball that hit Austrailia a few days ago. It looked big, and everyone thought they were gonna die, but it ended up being the size of a basketball.

I heard a Asteroid suspose to hit the Earth in like a thousand years. Scientists say its suspose to be the size of the one that killed the dinosaurs

I dont know but if you read the bible it says that the world will end in three ways
water,disese,and fire I think the world is ending as I type this because if you notice
the tsunami disaster and hurricane katrina thats water,the avian flu (disese),and if
you look at a mayan calendar it says in the year 2012 that fire will rain down from
the skies. and im scared

The world won't end. The bible also says that God will clense the earth of it's evils and give it to the good. Obviously worded different but still. It has the same goal.

I personally belive the end of the world will happen in our life time, this is why. In my religion(Cristhan) the Bible states alot of natural disasterous stuff will happen many years before the worlds end. Things like Katrina, Rita, Earthquacks, Tsunamis all that stuff has happened in the recent years. I don't know how it will happen, but that's not for us to find out. I do know one way it's NOT gonna happen and that's with water.

Once the temple in Jerusalem is rebuilt, and this "new ruler" (Anti-Christ) begins to show himself. Then you will know that the earth has limited time left. God will be the one who pours his wrath over the world. That will be the earth's ultimate destruction.

yeah but if you read revelations we wont know when the world will end. If you look at what the Mayas predicted that kinda gives everyone a date so we'd be expectiong it to end then... Therefore my conclusion it could end in our lifetime I just dont think that it would be in 2012. It personally doesnt matter to me if the world ends in my lifetime as long as i'm with my gf/wife at that time it's all good with me. I personally dont think it will though since I take Revelations as an age and not the end of the world. Just like how we just entered a new age I forgot what we just came out of I think it might have been pices but dont quote me on that.

I believe the world will end when there is nothing but ignorance among humans and all valuable knowledge is gone. As for the asteroid, scientists don't exactly have the perfect math right now, even for this time and age. They could be calculating incorrectly for it's path; it's crazy theories based off of assumptions based off of guesstimation. It's not that I don't believe it can happen, just that scientists aren't perfect about those things. Who knows, maybe the asteroid is huge but will burn up, maybe it's an entire cluster of smaller asteroids.
