Actually, universal. A guy can have a diary. "The Diary of Abraham Lincoln." "The Diary of Anne Frank." Even people who died long ago kept diaries; not just journals. Journals are like the root word journ- for journey. You want to take account of what you saw, who you saw, where did you go, and what happened there. Long after you're gone, someone finds it and takes into account of what happens in 2005. It could be in the year 2085 and our children may find our old diaries in time capsules. They will find out what happened while we were still alive. Basically history is in the making and we are a part of that history.

i'm gettin confused. so you can write journals but if you write your feelings in it you're gay !

i thought the point of a dumbass journal was to explain what you did and how you feel about it.

so....a guy can do only half the thing and said what he did but not say how he felt about it?

Records (as far as the dictionary of the english language go) have nothing to do with personal things. And Predator, if you read what I said, you would see that I didn't say people with journals are gay. I said most straight guys don't keep journals, because they aren't as in touch with their feelings/emotions as gays and women. I recognize however, that this may be changing, as all things do. Women didn't go out to get jobs pre-WW2. Now they support their husbands. Things change.

journals are universal. just because you have a journal, it doesn't automatically have to be all touchy feely and stuff. it could just be used for if/when you want to reflect on your day by writing about it. if a guy had a journal that read "omg i met this hawt girl in school today and i wanna sexx0rz her up", would you consider him girly for having a journal?

journals/diaries are universal in my opinion. Your simply writing down events that happen in your life so you can reflect on them later in life just like a photograph or family video.

and I don't see where sexual orientation comes into this

Read the fucking text people! I may be right or wrong, we'd have to do a study of it to be sure, but I'm not saying 'If you're gay you have a journal' or 'If you're straight you don't.' I'm sick of people skinning through topics and taking offense to stuff they didn't read or didn't understand.
