yeah your right 1137 gamei would rather go to imageshack. Its that why would you do make one here if you can go somewhere else to host pics it useless

i think it's a good idea but i agree with what everyone else is saying..if the wrong person were to upload a wrong picture then it would give the forum and main site a bad name...so we should either think more about it or ask a mod or two to take care of the pictures and check on them every now and then..

The uploads would be moderated, just like they are already on the main site.

Although we have a member-upload capability for images on the main site, unfortunately it takes a lot of work to run it -- all user accounts have to be created by hand, for example. One nice thing about the Invision Gallery is that it'd tied into the forum for things like user accounts.

As far as concerns about bandwidth and disk space, neither of those is an issue for us. Fortunately, we have a ton of space and plenty of extra bandwidth available for these apps.

Features:

-- Images can be organized by category (like forums)
-- Members can create an album to hold related images
-- Thumbnail images are automatically created
-- Gallery home page shows last 5 images uploaded and 5 random images
-- Images can be rated (from 1 to 5)
-- You can see a page with thumbnails of the top 10 rated images
-- Members can post comments about the image (great for GFX team feedback, for example)

You can probably tell that I think it would be a cool feature. I thought the same thing about the upload feature on the main site, but it hasn't been used that much. I'd like to believe that it would be used more if it was easier to upload images, and if it was possible to easily get feedback from people.

i think it would be a good idea, i cant recal seeing an image forum on any invision sites so i think it will be kinda like a USP.

it can be a good idea,but u need someone to oversee it all the time so taht no stupid ppl would post dumb pics and spam.
