This is a conversation between two people. I will call them person A and person B.


A: I have a joke for you.

B: OK.

A: 3 guys walk into a hotel, and pay 30 dollars for a room and they split the price evenly paying 10 dollars each. The man that charged them for the room realizes he overcharged them and gives the bellboy 5 dollars to give back to the 3 guys that paid for the room. However, 5 cannot be split evenly between 3, so the bellboy keeps 2 dollars for himself and gives the 3 guys back one dollar each. They each paid 9 dollars for the room, and 3 times 9 is 27 plus the other 2 that the bellboy kept, where did the other dollar go?

B: Hey thats...wha? How is that a joke?!

A: The look on your face!

I heard this one at school somewhere actually. We figured it out and there isnt an extra dollar, did it in maths. I cant remember exactly how it went, but i know that there isnt an extra dollar.

The guy's have 3. Bellboy has 2.
3 + 2 = 5.
Bellboy and guy's combined.
25 + 5 = 30.

Damn, that is confusing. It was funny, these sort of confusing stories usually are. I got the math wrotten down by The1337Game but I can't really connect it to the story, it still bugs me.
