Charlie And The Chocolate Factory

I've recently heard that Tim Burton will direct the all time classic story of Charlie and all those Oompa Loompas. This one is said to follow the book a lot more than the really old movie of Willy Wonka in the early 70's. If anybody is a fan of the creepy Oompa Loompas or Johnny Depp (playing Mr. Wonka) you should check this out.

Yea, already checked it out. Maybe it will be a lot better, I would love to own the Chocolate Factory. Though I'd gain so much weight and probably die from eating too much candy 8).

Johnny Depp is playing willa wonka. My sis say's that it is going to be good. I have the old one and i like it. Maybe i will like this one too. I cant wait till it comes out!

I love the original book by Roald Dahl (Other Dahl's books are brilliant too, btw). It's great that they put the real name of the book to the film, too, and not "Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory".
The new version seems more 'adult' than the 1970's version, which is great. Great story, can't wait to see the movie.

^ I think he's the best one to direct this movie. He's done great work with other kid-like movies too, like Edward Scissorhands and Big Fish.
I can't think of anyone who would be better to direct it.

I can't wait to see this movie, I've read and read and read and read Rohld Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate factory and I love it to death. But mostly I am excited of the fact that Tim Burton is directing it! He is the absolute PERFECT director for this movie. I love the eerie/gothic feeling of his work, he's gonna make it an absolute MASTERPIECE!!! EVERYONE see this movie when it comes out!!! I order ye!!!

Phew. C'mon Tim Burton, you better not let me down

EDIT: I just saw the trailer! It looks GREAT! Johnny Depp is PERFECT for the role of Willy Wonka, (I'm not a fan, but he is excellent for the role). I also love his creepy look. BRILLIANT.

It is true, it is going t be remade starrting Jhonny Depp. I think the effects and umpa lumpas and factory will be amusing to watch however it would be quite difficult to live upto the first version of the movie asides from it topping the first one in the computer generated and filming quality related topics.

Everyone who has posted has commented on it, there were no spams before your post and the posts wern't pontless. Bumping up topics as logn as the post is valid doesn't matter, it makes more sense then making a new thread.

My brothers girl friend thinks this will rock cause she likes Johnny Depp and Tim Burton (mostly the latter, A Nightmare Before Christmas is her favorite. Kinda weird cause normally she only likes horror movies). I saw the trailer, it could be alright but as good as he is I don't Depp can top the original actor. Its like the prodcer (I belive thats who it was) said he was the only person in the world that could have all of those bad things happening to people and still seem so kind.
