I used to do Kagen Go Ju for 15 years - Okinawan form similar to the Mr. Miyagi teachings lol, Now I do mixed martial arts, little bit of Jeet Kun Do and just started Muy Thai.

I thought his style was more based on Shoryin Ryu style.

Then again, this is a -movie- we're talking about.

Duo I think you're right about the Miyagi Okinawan style but I'm pretty sure my style Kagen Go Ju was originated more north of the region Shoryin Ryu. There is a lot of similarities in punch and block techniques but the Kata's are performed quite differently. There are probably more than 2 styles from Okinawa that I have yet to hear about.
