Killzone 2

Anyone even remotely interested in this title or think it can surpass the likes of Halo and Gears of War?

I don't know what to expect; Killzone, for the PS2, was horrible.

Sony said they're not happy with the currect process, it was supposed to be done in 2008. Now it's moved to 2009 FEB.

It cant be a Halo killer, As Halo is run and gun. This is stop and pop.

It cant be a Gears killer as Gears is a tps, not an fps.

But the game does look good. I am keeping my eye on it. And shotkeeper, no company is happy when a game gets delayed. So Yeah Sony would be kind of upset. But overall. No biggie. Better to get a game late and it be great, then to get it early and have it be crap.

Killzone 2 should prepared and fine tuned much better than its first outing. I'll probably pick it up just to have another shooting game. I still find it laughable that so many Killzone fanboys thought the first game was godly. It wasn't.

It's not exactly easy to surpass Gears of War or Halo.

I mean on game play and popularity in particular. Halo is legendary and GoW is outstanding with its visuals and squad based combat. Tons of money go into their development and they already have a huge fan base and big time online support. Of course it's going to be hard, especially for a game with a prequel that wasn't too hot. Not many games on my list would surpass both those titles, maybe one but both is a serious feat. This is just basing it off of how successful the series is, it has nothing to do with your or my personal opinion as I didn't want that included with this. The only titles I would put across both of those is either the FF series or the MGS series. Maybe even RE but that's it for the most part.

Matter of perspective, Teecee. I didn't think the 1st Killzone was all that bad. It was kinda neat to me. I can see how some1 would think it was the best thing since sliced bread. It simply wasn't to me though.

Not too serious of a feat to me, Raven. Halo 1 was a great game. I give it that but 2 sucked and I won't bother with 3. Gears of Gore...I mean War...yeah. We all know I hate blood and gore in games.

Personally, I'd put Tenchu up to blow 'em both outa the water. But we all know how much 360 owners HATE Tenchu games.

I have Killzone:Liberation for the PSP and it´s a decent shooting game for the psp!

Anyways on topic I can´t get it because I wont be buying the PS3 till the price tag lowers a little bit more then I might buy it.

Killzone is a decent shooting series.

Better than guild wars and halo?! umm.. Maybe.

When comparing sales' numbers, passing Halo 3 and even Halo 2 wasn't an easy feat. Although six months have passed since the game's release, Halo 3 had to be brought down by the giant that is Grand Theft Auto IV.

When speaking in terms of the Killzone franchise, I believe that the original game for the Playstation 2 sold 2 million copies during its print run. Whether or not that includes the 'Greatest Hits' edition is unknown to me. Regardless, compare those numbers to Halo 2's 2.2 million day one movement. This was dwarfed by Halo 3's 2.8 million day one copies sold, and this was eventually surpassed by GTA IV.

I do, however, believe a better, second iteration of Killzone will serve the name more faithfully.

I know, I just felt the need to justify why the hopes for Killzone 2 are much greater than the original. Then, I compared the amount of hype for the first with its failure.

KZ2 has high hopes because most of the hands on's have been raving about the game. But we shall see. Also. It does look like a solid game to me. But I liked the first one.
