Who's your pick to win it all?
Also, do you have any predictions on first round upsets? Myself, I'm a Kansas fan. I used to live five minutes from their college campus, and it's hard not to develop some sort of favoring. As for upsets, I don't see Clemson making it past the first round. Great games played against Duke and North Carolina increased their stock, but that doesn't mean the team has actually gotten any better. Expect Kent State to take them out. |

I picking Texas to win it all! I just love DJ Augustin! Since I live in San Antonio, I'm going to the Final Four! I just hope Texas can get by Memphis!

Didn't Texas just lose the Big 12 Championship game to a certain team that I cannot currently recall? *cough*
I must admit, though, I am amazed by Augustin . . . he's got massive handles and a mad fade away jumper. He needs to play defense, though. Chalmers lit him up for 30. *cough* I'll stop harassing Texas if they beat Memphis. From where I'm standing, Memphis is the most overrated team to ever play in a college basketball game. Looking at their conference, I wonder why their record is as solid as it is. Not. |

Like I stated in a previous thread, I don't watch basketball at all. However, my family fills out these brackets as a "competition" or sorts, so I had to do one this year. I used to live about fifteen minutes away from the Memphis campus so I put them in the championship game but I figured North Carolina must be pretty good so I picked them to win because I want the money.

I didn't see this thread, or I might've posted earliar. I'm surprised that it does not have more posts... maybe we have a larger percentage of non-North American members, because otherwise the Final Four is a huge event, basketball fan or not.
I can't believe that 4 number one seeds are in the final, serious lack of parity in the NCAA, mostly because players keep leaving after their freshman year. That said, Davidson was really close, and Kansas got really lucky that their defense on Curry worked, and that he didn't have the experience to know not to try to dribble around a double team in the dying seconds. Anyway, I would say Kansas is the weekest team, but plays great defense ( a lot of that depends on which version of Rush shows up though), and Memphis is good, and Derrick Rose is great, but I still see a UNC/UCLA final. |

Don't credit Memphis too much. They shot 31% above their season average from the charity stripe. Add in the fact that Texas doesn't really have any physical posts to match up with the Tigers, all they had to do was step out on Abrams and Augustin. Both of who, I might add, shot poorly.
Sadly, Memphis will likely take the victory. EDIT: Links, as a Kansas fan, I can't allow you to fault the Jayhawks for the pressure they were under. If they win, all four number one seeds would enter the Final Four for the first time. If they lose, the first ten seed would enter the final four. They were also playing uptight and trying not to lose. Their confidence level wasn't where it should have been, and overall, I believe that affected the way they played the game as a whole. While I'm obviously glad they hung on for the win, I look forward to the no pressure situation in their next match-up against North Carolina. Don't count Kansas out. |

Who does North Carolina have in the low post to match up with Darrell Arthur, Darnell Jackson, Sasha Kaun, and Cole Aldrich? =\ Expendable fouls in their post play, with many different styles of attack. Kansas' front court is no push over either. While UNC may win the game, it won't be with ease.

Well my bracket that I predicted was almost perfect, but the thing missing is Texas. Well I going with North Carolina now to win it all. Tyler Hansbrough is just amazing.

This should be a good game, not the most entertaining one ever though, but really competitive. |
