They had a "far better defense"? I'd like to see some stats of that cause I don't remember it being that way. They had a hell of a defense in 2001. And Brady had troy brown ( a pro-bowler and all-pro). Donald Driver? seriously? donald driver? thats who your gonna use as an example? wow, Favre made Driver a decent receiver. Marvin Harrison was injured most of this season and Manning still had a good year, besides ONE game (not just for the season, but for his career this is the example everybody is gonna give)

First off Brady DID have recievers along with a awesome team. The defense was the main component of the Pats team. NOT brady, although he is now. Brady is a great quarterback and I not saying Farve is better or Manning is better. Just Farve is a awesome quarterback, he would never walk off the field in a loss. That is just trashy and unprofessional. I lost respect for him after that.
And Manning... I not sure if he is better at football or commercials.

Yup. Bethel Johnson, David Patten, Reche Caldwell....that's a real All-Pro squad, there.
Brady has never had even ONE receiver who ever made a ProBowl until last year. Ever. There hasn't even been one. Now that he actually got one, look what happened. And he didn't even have one on each side, like Manning had for years. |

Well, its become obvious that some people think he's great, and some people think hes really good. The problem I have with this whole argument is that there really isn't a big difference between really good and great. The main reason I don't call him great is because he hasn't retired yet, so we do not know how his whole career is going to be. Look at Kurt Warner, he was being called an all-time great quaterback then he flopped, and now he is only a decent quaterback. I will call Favre great because he had a great career and its over, and I was using Manning as an example because they are always compared, I shouldn't use Manning as an example though, but I really like Manning cause he does show respect. I'll still say Brady is overrated, but we will never agree I suppose. I will say this though: How do we know Harrison and Wayne are great receivers? We've never seen them play without Manning, maybe its Manning ( Wayne might have played with someone else, but I don't think so) Brady's receivers have changed, and we have seen that most of them aren't good without him, I will give Brady supporters that.

Harrison was making plays for 2 years before Manning was drafted, and Wayne was a first-round pick for a reason: it's because he rewrote the record books at The U. That's saying something, when you consider the WR talent that went before him (like Michael Irvin).

Yea but wasn't it Brian Griese that destroyed all Marino's records at whatever college they went to ( I shoulda done research before I posted this) and he didn't turn out to be anything special. There have been tons of first round picks that haven't turned out good (Ryan Leaf anyone?). What were Harrison's stats before Manning? I doubt as good. Just when I thought I was out, SRP76 pulled me back in. ( Sorry for the bad Godfather III quote)

And Griese went to Michigan (and was backed up by - guess who? - Brady). Marino went to Pittsburgh, who produced....well....no QBs, really. Pitt was a garbage team for a lot of years in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. |
