I'm telling you, it's because Guns n Roses created the defined the genre along with other popular bands of the eighties. The influx of music is coming from all genres, so there doesn't really seem to be a clear path of direction.

Indeed.
Now as I was saying, current bands of the 20th century and the 90's do not offer the same greatness or epicness that bands during the 80's along with 70's and 60's once did. Especially since all great ideas for songs were already used during this epic 3 decade boom in music. Thus, rock dies out after the 80's.

I don't get it.
Just because it doesn't live up to the supposed golden age it's dead? It's like saying every other basketball player sucks because he's not better than Jordan. Or saying that any contemporary painter is irrelevant because they're no Davinci. I don't know, I'm just saying there is some pretty decent music now, just that people are so constrained in their little box and hold everyone up to this idealogical standard of musical godliness, it's unlikely anyone will ever be good again.

Yes. Yes. Yes. =/ For example: I am a great musician as well as a drawer, yet no matter how far greater I become I cannot be compared to great performers like Slash, Jimi Hendrix, VAN HALEN(no way in hell that will happen). Drawers...meh, I don't know any.
