Sounds better than the Japanese movie already. Better CGI for Ryuk and Rem, guaranteed.

There is potential for the movie, it could be a decent film but it all comes down to the execution. Any manga or comic could be come a great movie if the right effort is put into it. The problem is most times things that can be & should be good are not because most expect die hard fans will go to see it. Even if they are disappointed, they did go & in the eyes of many people responsible for our entertainment that'was the goal job well done.

^we'll it depends, look at Ironman it delivered. Spideman 2 also improved Doc Ock, and Even Spideman 3 made a cooler Goblin (too bad the movie sucked) If they got a director that really liked the idea they could make a great movie/s.

I don't think I'm going to see it. The closest theater showing it is probably 45 minutes away. And I think they'll be playing the dubbed version (not that I don't adore the dub of the anime, but I detest live action movie dubs, whether it be a Japanese movie, a Korean movie, a Spanish movie...).

It was a big film in Japan, but overall it was piss poor for acting and CGI. The OST is great though.
