Origionally Funimation took the 291 episodes of DBZ from Japan and edited them down to 276 episodes with crummy word translations and poor picture quality; these are probably the episodes that you have.

Despite many re-releases of these episodes Funimation has decided to go back and release ALL 291 of the origional unedited Japanese episodes with a "newly revised audio track", however, these episodes have been ruthlessly cropped from their origional 4:3 aspect ratio to 16:9 (as well as many other good and bad changes). These episodes are currently being released by season and that is what we are talking about here.

Season 1: Vegeta Saga (39 episodes)-Release Date: Feb. 6, 2007

Season 2: Namek Saga (28 episodes) -Release Date: May 22, 2007
Captain Ginyu Saga (7 episodes)

Season 3: Freeza Saga (33 episodes)-Release Date: Sept. 18, 2007

Cover: SSj Goku *Everything has been confirmed for season 6

Also, Funimation has stated that they are interested in remastering all of DB and DBGT in season format due to the popularity of the DBZ seasons. Well I mean what there might do is Cell Games late 2008, With Teen Hohan on it
Then syaiman/Babidi/maybe majin buu (early next year)
Then the Buu saga/Fusion saga
Then the kid buu saga or maybe they put more eps in and just make 3 more box sets instead of 4

The World Tournament Saga is between the Saiyaman Saga and the Majin Buu Saga so they would have to include that saga too which would make it a 59 episode season and that seems a bit ridiculous.

Also, combining the Cell Games Saga and the Saiyaman Saga would make a 42 episode season which is also unlikely. And I don't think that they will combine the end of the Cell arc and the begining of the Buu arc in a season.

I don't know why it's out, the official release date is definitely May 27, thats pretty cool that you get it early though, what stores is it available at?

I have updated my post (2nd to the top of page 2) that has information on all of the season sets since I have now seen the trailer for season 6 on youtube (YouTube - DBZ Season 6 Remastered Trailer!). I now know that it conatins 29 episodes and SSj Goku on the cover. Since Gohan did not get this cover I now predict them to put him as the Great Saiyaman on the cover of season 7. These are my only changes, hope they help.

*Note: It seems that many stores are selling season 5 as early as 10 days before the announced release date (thats how the trailer is up) so hurry over to Walmart or Best Buy and pick up your copy before it is officially released!

I'm wondering if I should even buy the rest of these Remastered Seasons because they're all coming out on Blu Ray later and I don't wanna have to waste my money...why can't they just make up their damn minds and stop doing this to us fans?!

I'm getting a PS3 later so might as well wait and get the episodes and movies that will be redone on Blu Ray but they would still be more expensive..what do you guys think? >.<

I just got season 5 and the double feature, kinda pissed that the second movie has no commentary like the first remastered movie did. Its only worth it for truw DBZ fans that have to have DBZ.
