Favorite Mario game?

Today has been a pretty dull day, so I started to play some old Mario games.

What's your favorite Mario game? Main series. Mario Baseball, Mario Soccer, Mario Racing, Mario Fighting, Mario Baking, Mario: The Koopas Strike Back etc. do not count.

Mine is probably Mario 3 or Mario 64.

Hard to tell, toss up between Sunshine and Mario 64. I loved Sunshine because it was so different, the tropical feel was just great, the world was colorful and vibrant and the gameplay was completely different. The graphics were good, the music was catchy, all in all, it was just pure fun. Mario 64 was basically a 3D Mario, god was it frustrating. I think I'll go with Super Mario 64.

Galaxy.

Everything about it was perfect.

Except the ending, which made no sense whatsoever.

Super Mario 64 will always be my favorite in the series. I had great times with that game and not even Super Mario Galaxy will be the same IMO.

Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World take the top spot, with Super Mario Bros. 2 after, then Super Mario 64. Haven't played Galaxy yet.
