My favorite has always been Charmander, A long with Arcanine and Totodile. I hate grass pokemon.

That's on offense (attack and special attack). What Charizard has for offense Blastoise makes up for with defense. Those pokemon have a weak defense to my knowledge. Their speed and attack is what give them an advantage. They can get one hit KO's but can they take hits from a Tyranitar or Dragonite? Ice Beam or Hydro Pump would put it away. =/ I'm not putting it down though, I love those fire Pokemon.

I read in a FAQ once that said grass Pokemon lack the offense of starter fire pokemon and also lack the defense of starter water pokemon, lol. Grass pokemon can be great, but it's best to just use them against Rock/Ground/Water/Ice types. Well, I'm actually not sure about ice but since it's frozen water....=/

I also have a level fifty soulrock and I caught a Skarmory (bitch just wouldn't hop in the Pokeball...).
The wild electric Pokemon in the underground Mauville place certainly gave me a run for my money though.

Types? Well, I generally balance my Team with multi-Type Pokémon. Each one only has one or two moves that match it's type. For example, Alakazam only has two Psychic moves - Psychic and Calm Mind. However, a Dual-type like Flygon has Dragon Claw and Earthquake. Generally, single-types only have one move that match it's type. However, supplementary moves like Calm Mind are the exception. I like a balanced team. I also try to plan with moves that will be Super Effective against my Pokémon's weakness. For example, if PokémonA has a 4x weakness to Ice, I'll give PokémonA Fire Punch or Flamethrower. Physical and Special is also a factor. If a Pokémon has a very high Special Attack, I'll only teach it Special moves. That's why Flygon only has Physical moves. His Attack is higher than his Special. That's also why he doesn't know Flamethrower, a Special.

That's also why I'd thrash all of you on Wi-Fi. At once. =/

But Island, don't multi-types have dual weaknesses? Once I get Wi-Fi, I'm going to hold you to your word champ. ;)

I'd aim for a Psychic, Dragon, Water, Fire, Dark, Electric team. However, as it has been in the latest games that there has been a severe lack of good Electric pokemon, I've often replaced that with Grass.

For example, if PokémonA has a 4x weakness to Ice, I'll give PokémonA Fire Punch or Flamethrower.

@Raven: Depends on the Type. For example, Flygon has a x4 weakness to Ice because both of his Types are weak against Ice. Then again, other Types compliment one another to where one is strong against TypeA while another is weak against TypeA. Therefore, the effect is neutralized. Think of Spiritomb. Because of it's Types, it has virtually no weakness.

@Crayne: What about the Magneton and Electabuzz eveolutions?

Agreed, Magnezone and Electivire are a bit better... but then again you have to go through the whole "hold items and trade" hustle. I didn't say it, but I meant electric pokemon that don't need any trading.

Raichu was always decent....but my personal favorite electric Pokemon of all time is Zapdos. Amazing speed and drill peck rocks your socks, believe it! There is a lack of good electric Pokemon too...although the new form of Electabuzz looks bad ass, doubt there is anything stronger than that in the electric field...except maybe Zapdos or the legendary electric dog Pokemon.

Yellow version was my first until it got stolen like a month or so after my birthday. Played my Gold version yesterday. To my surprise I defeated Red with only my level 84 Ho-Oh.
