I updated the list, forgot I had a Gyarados. Well, if I take Walrein, that would make two water type in my team. Is it a good thing, because if I happen to compete with someone who has grass or electric Pokémons, they're out of the question. Of course I have Flygon but he's just not that strong without earthquake. I'm starting to think, maybe I should focus a little more on stats decreasing moves or stats increasing moves. Should I give them attacks such as Sword Dance, Metal Sound, Double team ect?

Hyper Beam is basically useless unless it is a sure kill. Flygon's moveset should also have Earthquake... I'd also recommend Flamethrower and Rock Slide. Crunch is a good choice, but an alternative to that could be Dragon Claw. Sceptile should have Toxic in there, perhaps Dragon Claw. Earthquake for Aggron, Rock Slide as well. Double Edge isn't a bad choice either. And in conclusion, I recommend getting an HM slave for the useless HMs, like Cut.

I raised a Flygon not too long ago.
Flygon: Item: Dragon Plate Nature: Adamant EVs: Attack and Speed Moves: - Dragon Claw - Earthquake - Fly / Aerial Ace - U-Turn Dragon Claw receives a 1.5% boost because Flygon is a Dragon-type. It also receives a 1.5% boost from Dragon Plate. Earthquake receives a 1.5% boost because Flygon is a Dragon-type. Fly is a general HM which I might replace for Aerial Ace. U-Turn is a newly introduced Bug-type move that allows Flygon to attack and return to it's ball in the same turn, hence the name. All of these are physical attacks, so they gain the extra boost from the Attack EVs as well. Bam!

Through the years I've learned that a balanced team is better than a super starter and a few weaklings. This is the first time I've had a Pokemon much stronger than my starter but it's a beautiful thing. Anyone recommend the higher up version of the handheld Nintendo system for the Pokemon games? I want to move on but I want to make sure it's worth it, so anyone...how is the DS with the new Pokemon games? Also, can I play SP games in it? Right now I'm playing Ruby in the desert area, just caught two Trapinch, one cacnea, and and I'm trying to catch a Baltoy. Fucking thing self-destructed on me, so pissed. :( Edit: I just wanted to share two nice tips with you guys. The first one: In ruby, if you wish to level up a Pokemon in the day care center the experience points = 1 foot step. Go to the sand area where the mud slide is and put something on the up button. You'll keep trying to go up it and just leave it on over night to get pokemon stronger faster. Second tip: To catch any pokemon (even a legendary), throw what balls you have and switch your pokemon with another. Don't keep using the same Pokemon and throwing balls, switch every time you throw and keep it up. This is out I caught Mewtwo, I couldn't catch him worth shit. Then I started switching and within no time I got him. Not sure why it works but constantly switching Pokemon helps with Pokemon capture.

I level up my Pokemon by constantly battling the Elite Four.
For Red, my Charizard is around lvl82 and he's still kicking ass, so I rarely use different Pokemon to fight the EF. For my Gold though, I use all my lower level Pokemon first and once they're dead I resort to using my lvl100 Typhlosion. That's about it for my strategies for those two games. I don't have any other games anymore.

Lol, so since this is a general pokemon thread, let's talk about types and what types of pokemon you guys like having.
For me...it's dragon, fire, grass, poison, water, steel, and ghost types. Those are my all time favorites. Rock and ice would come next.

Types? Well, I generally balance my Team with multi-Type Pokémon. Each one only has one or two moves that match it's type. For example, Alakazam only has two Psychic moves - Psychic and Calm Mind. However, a Dual-type like Flygon has Dragon Claw and Earthquake. Generally, single-types only have one move that match it's type. However, supplementary moves like Calm Mind are the exception. I like a balanced team. I also try to plan with moves that will be Super Effective against my Pokémon's weakness. For example, if PokémonA has a 4x weakness to Ice, I'll give PokémonA Fire Punch or Flamethrower. Physical and Special is also a factor. If a Pokémon has a very high Special Attack, I'll only teach it Special moves. That's why Flygon only has Physical moves. His Attack is higher than his Special. That's also why he doesn't know Flamethrower, a Special.
That's also why I'd thrash all of you on Wi-Fi. At once. =/
