You say the FF series is garbage because it is generic. Generic is the same as it was before. So, you're sayin' FF1 is exactly like FF11. Now, unless I got the number wrong, 11 was a OMMRPG while 1 wasn't. Also, 11 had multiple characters that were never even in 1. Then, there's also graphics to look into. So, without even playing number 11, I already know the two are not generic yet both were grat games.

To add more to why you are wrong, if the game was garbage, then people wouldn't buy it. If people didn't buy it, the series would stop. So, apperantly, you are one of few who dislikes the series. I on the other hand like and dislike the games.

Now, if you want to bitch about the PS3 everytime you come into a thread that even remotly about the system, either STFU and GTFO of this section or create an actual thread complaining about the system and it's games.

First of all I don't particualarly hate the PS3, I just hate Final Fantasy.

Generic means it's the same as the other games of the same genre. Never did I say FF1 is the same as FF11. There is also the fact FF11 is a turning point in the series since it's a MMO RPG. I'm talking about the FF series like FF6, FF9 etc. The game mechanics didn't change much over time and graphics aren't what make a game not generic. Halo 3 has great graphics but is still a generic FPS. You can't just use one exemple to say FF isn't a generic series, you use one game as an argument and the entire series consist of what 25 games?? It's not like the latest titles brought something new to the gaming community nor the RPG genre. It's still the same thing as before, which is a turn based action RPG with no innovative nor creative elements like there are in Fable. That's why I say FF is a generic series, always the same thing for most games, not much innovation over time, game mechanics don't change much, the battle system is still basically the exact same thing. I don't know why it makes you angry that I dislike FF.

Sales don't define wether a game is good or not, FF is just extremely popular just like the Halo series and I can bet you won't say Halo 3 is good because of its sales. I find many people who dislike Halo around here and sales surely doesn't make them think the game isn't garbage.

It's not like I hate SCIV in fact I think it will be a great game for both systems.

FF...is absolutely amazing. I will disagree with you. Few titles can do with FF has done for so many years...captivating story line, believable characters, massive environments, impressive and huge boss battles, plenty of part characters to choose from with unique abilities. I mean FF offers so much, I don't like seeing it put down. The story line and character interaction is hands down one of the best things a Final Fantasy game brings to the table. Halo's story has nothing on a FF story, I can say that much. These games just always blow me away but maybe you're just not a rpg fan. =/

Agreed. Really, you can like FF because obviously, critically it's a great game, but for me, all these elements aren't what make a game great. There can be many reasons why you love FF and I'm sure I just can't contradict you, but for me, these reasons aren't reasons to like it. In your eyes and in the eyes of most people it's a great game, but not for me, it seems I'm an exception, but my opinion isn't the universal truth so it's obvious you have good reasons to disagree with it. The reasons you stated are what make that series great in the eyes of so many but not in my eyse. Still, it doesn't mean that game isn't good, for me it isn't but for most people it is.

Oh and, Halo storyline is pretty good by the way, Halo 3 pretty much screwed it up but whatever.

Anyways, back on topic. It seems SCIV hasn't improved that much. Sure the graphics and the environements look great but it seems the same thing as SC3 with very few new elements. I didn't see much of the game so I'll just wait and see what's coming. Even if they kept the same formula as SC2, why would they change a winning formula?

Indeed, this is the big question when makes sequels. What to change and what not to change, however, it's better to add-on to an existing winning formula than to just switch it because then it might be a losing formula and that's a risk no one wants to gamble. I've never owned a game so I might buy it, hopefully the fighting system is deep as is the story line (wishful thinking).
