Pretty much. Although, they don't have infinite resources, so if you sent a large force, they'll be able to gather everything that can be gathered in one go.

Of course, Abandoned Villages continue producing resources just the same as normal ones.

Sloth, just so you know, you're protected now, so it's no big deal, but when beginner protection wears off, always leave some soldiers to defend your village.

Ah. Click on the Tribe tab that is located on the top right of the screen.
I believe JAIF has already sent you an invitation.

After the Tribe tab has been opened, there should be a message located on the bottom(center) That asks you to accept or decline the invitation.

That should get you into the tribe. :D
