Well from what I heard you can get it exchanged if it does give you the red rings. I'm not sure what the policy is with timed warranty.
I know for the original Xbox, that Xbox give you an extra few years on the warranty, so if Elites are having these problems too, then it stands to reason that the same curtesy is given to it's owners.

All of the Xbox 360s have a three year warranty that covers the Red Ring of Death.

The hardware on the PS3 doesn't fail. It's the software. It seems that every couple of updates they have a hiccup, and a few more PS3s bite the dust. It just isn't a console holocaust.

Wait until August. Microsoft is releasing a new 60GB console for $349. That is, unless you want the 20GB version for $299.

Edit: Tomorrow is like another Christmas.

And Christmas is a big ol money racket these days. I'm thinking of getting another console, cheap one but can't decide on whether to get an Elite one or the regular. I don't care about the memory.

Do you have HDTV? If not, get regular, as you'll have no need for the cable that comes with the elite; or the memory that you don't want. However the middle class 360's are hard to find.

The $ 299 buy is a seller for me...

Its better for my folks , since things are pretty tight right now...

which is why i didnt get a 360 for graduation to middle school...

Get the cheapest one, you're not going to use up all that space anyway...at least I haven't at all. And the HD thing...pssst there's no difference.

The extra 40GBs in the new system helps. I'm constantly deleting stuff to make room, as I like to store movies and music on my console.

And just for the record, Bulma. There is a difference. I wouldn't say it's small in comparison, either.

Edit: 37 minutes until Microsoft's press conference.

Bulma. The 60gig comes with an HDMI on it if I am not mistaken. There is a vast diffrence from HD-AV cables and HDMI.
