Lol, I never said the books were created before the games.

It has been mentioned by Bungie on different occasions that the Halos are one threat. One of many options the Covenant had to destroy the Human race.

Oh I see I see, so the Halo Objective that Master Chief is on is just one part of a bigger story? Or is Master Chief involved in any other possibilities?
They'd need to make whatever back up they have for destroying earth and ruling the universe a bit major to beat the Halos.
They'd also need to introduce a new baddie...

they want to activate the Halo's because that will send them on their path of ascendant (they don't know that the Halo's were made to wipe out every Sentient Being in the galaxy)

Also the Humans in the Halo Universe are the heirs of the forerunner's again the Prophets refuse to believe this thus why they want to extinct the Human race...

Why exactly the Forerunners were particularly fond of humanity has always been unclear. i know a blog you should all check out but unfortunately it has a forum on it so i can't post a direct link but Google Ascendant Justice (Bungie has had this as a featured site so it is trustworthy) in this site there is alot of background information around the Halo Universe as that is what the Blog is Dedicated to.

I honestly can't imagine what the new generation of consoles will support. There has been talk of digital-only games. I hope I never have to download a game like Grand Theft Auto IV on LIVE. =\

I cant see a full digital console coming out now with all the talk of ISP providers giving bandwidth limits. And with MGS4 being 50gigs. And some providers giving only 40gigs a month. I just dont see it at all.

I was hoping for 1080.

Highly doubt the next gen will be full digital. Maybe the one after though, fibre optics and new tech will most likely allow it by then.

They won't even be shown for at least another two years. This happened with the original Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Speculation and rumors ran around the internet for months.
