Although, it may have something to do with the Darkness Guns. So . . . grab those if you don't want your game to fail.

The biggest complaint about the game is its glitches. This is the one area that drags down the game in a major way. I really liked the game. I had a very good experience. The atmosphere was riveting and the game play was nothing short of great, but the amount of glitches in this game is ridiculous. There was many times where my game froze. Not only that, I had to restart an entire chapter because of a glitch that prevented the next set of event from occurring. With a little refinement, this game would easily be an 8.5+ game. What is left now is a very good game marred and brought down by glitches that could have been prevented. The only other complaints aside from this are the recycling of enemies and the lack of boss fights. Enemies throughout the game pretty much consisted of 2 kinds of humans. One was the mobster and the second were World War soldiers.

As of late, I've been researching the games I want to play and they include:

1) Bioshock (mildly)
2) Mass Effect (a lot)
3) The Orange Box (a lot)
4) Halo 3 (a lot)
5) GTA IV (mildly)
6) Gears of War 2 Limited Edition (a whole lot)
7) Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (a whole lot)
8) Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (very badly)
9) Devil May Cry 4 (more than anything else...)

The words in parenthesis just refer to how badly I want to own the game.

I was respecting your choices until I read 'Devil May Cry 4'.

I just don't understand how people can be so entertained by that game. I wish I could understand. Really, I do.

The story line is OK but that's not what's special about it. It's about the stylish and deep fighting system with bad ass characters and hordes of enemies to hurl down to the pits of hell. Seriously, it's about style, action, learning of one's kismet and sedition. It's not exactly about epic story telling, romance, or things of that nature. I love it for what it is...a great action game with cool characters, a wide array of weaponry, a good fighting system, and tons of attributes you can customize throughout the game. Just about every game scores well anyway so that's another indicator that it's a good title (except DMC 2 which sucked ass). I just love the game man, being a fan of action games I don't see how you couldn't like it. My brother is like the biggest racing game addict, yet he loves DMC. That too says something about the DMC series. It's a fun game so it's definitely going to be entertaining, even if it's not "epic."

I got DMC4 not to long ago and I like Nero as a protanganist instead of Dante.

I hear the Devil Arm Bringer (new weapon) is extremely fun to play, one of the reasons I'm wanting it so badly. The only bad things I've heard about it is that the backgrounds get a bit iterative after a while. What the next one really needs though is an epic story with great character interaction, then it could be a great game and not just a good action title.

I liked DMC4 because it got more dramatic with Nero rather than Dante's shananigans.

I just wish the levels weren't static with varying camera angles. To be honest, that kills it for me.

Devil May Cry series is good for gameplay, but that's all.

Story and characters are fucking TERRIBLE. Music is pretty coo' though.

I would not say terrible. (I like them) But even you have to admit there are FAR worse.

And Raven, As it turns out. DMC4 was a rushed game. The next one they should have the full 2-3 year dev time. This time they had 1-2 years.

Also, if you have a VERY high end PC. Get it for the PC when it comes out. New modes in it.

When I say characters, I don't mean them by themselves I mean the development, it's just awful and cheesy as you can get. There's worse out there, of course, but Devil May Cry's story is shallow and barely plausible and it tries to take itself far too seriously.

The story...I could agree with you on that. There's very little "interesting" dialog between characters and hardly any back story on a character's background to present some depth to the character and the overall story line. The story...does need major tweaking. However, the characters are cool. Honestly, DMC was always about good game play and stylish characters/weapons. It does what it intends to do, I never thought the major goal for DMC was to have an epic story but then again it only hurts the game to not have one.
