lol@lord sloth for calling Wii a kiddy system but it is geared more towards families and not just teenagers or adults. Honestly, I don't know if the PS3 can handle the 360. I mean the 360 already has a lot of good titles and a lot of the ps2's exclusives jumped ship when the 360 arrived and the PS3 sales were not looking so good. Though I want final fantasy and metal gear solid, two games alone must be damn good to make me go out and shell a few hundred bucks on a gaming system. Don't get me wrong as technology is concerned the ps3 is highly powerful but as a gaming system it doesn't impress me right now. It needs a bit of innovation if it is to succeed. One reason why Nintendo didn't fall when everyone thought it would, innovation.

You really don't know shit about simple marketing, Sloth. You're comparing the PS2 and PS3's life for one without even looking at the factors that made the PS2 popular and regarded as the best system of the generation. The PS2 had LOADS, I mean, LOADS of third part support. Even more than the support that Microsoft is getting with he 360. Just look at the library of games and you'll see it's pretty much more than both the libraries of the Gamecube and X-box when you compare original-made titles for the system.

The PS3 has hardly any of those type of games and because it's so god damn expensive to make games on no developer wants to make games for it and want to move onto a more suitable platform like the 360 or Wii.

In a GIST? The PS3 does NOT have the third party support that the PS2 had, it hardly does in fact. It has more third party support than the Wii but that doesn't mean it somehow has some type of quality over the Wii's stuff, cause quite frankly comparing the two libraries the Wii has a better selection of games than the PS3.

Because of this, the PS3 will most likely not be as successful as the PS2 was which you're somehow trying to compare to.

Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid will redeem the PS3 without a doubt as those games are better than....90% of all other games out there? But even still, 360 has a solid lineup of exclusives and is currently kicking the other system's asses. They're going to need more than FF and MGS to make a comeback and that's on a serious note. They need some huge time first person shooters and rpg titles if they want to overcome Microsoft and Bill Gates! Go Sony, Go!

Yes but those are only two games.

They'll sell the PS3 definitely, but not much since it's, well, only two games and not a whole slew of third party titles like the 360 has.
