The show's been going downhill lately In my opinion, the gags aren't as funny as they used to be. I guess it's because they've run out of ideas or something?
But it's still one of my favorite shows.

Seriously, Family Guy just hasn't been as good since it came back. Season 1- Very Good Season 2- Brilliant Season 3- Hilarious Season 4- Above average Season 5- sucked Season 6- Had a few good episodes, but still mediocre What's the problem with Family guy now? -Too edgy. There's nothing wrong with being edgy, because it does work well with some shows, but it doesn't fit the style of the original, hilarious Family Guy. Whether it's Peter having a mental disablity (Or that sickening stroke episode), Lois being a complete bitch, Meg getting beaten all the time or abused in some way, Chris being more "Chris" than usual, Stewie being the annoying steriotypical gay guy, or Brian being a rebellious idiot (No longer is he a smart character), none of these things fit Family Guy well at all. -Storylines suck, plain and simple. Really, I could think up better stories than half the episodes these writers thought up. I'm giving serious consideration to believeing South Park's theory that manitees pass idea balls around to come up with ideas and jokes. It seems like they just come up with two random storylines for two different sets of characters for each episode, and it barely ever ties up the loose ends. -Bad jokes. This one is fairly obvious. Ever since FG returned I've noticed an increase in scenes where it was an awkward pause or a joke that made no sense (You know the ones "Yaaaaa") And it really feels like they're running out of material. So in order to make up for that, they just place some random 70's or 80's references in flashbacks (That last too long by the way) and most of them fail miserably as jokes. And they'll often times repeat the same stupid thing over and over. Things that aren't even funny. A perfect example comes in an episode that was actually good; Blue Harvest. The scene with them trying to lug the couch into the ship has got to be one of the dumbest, and biggest wastes of time ever. Like I care about a crappy joke about moving a couch Yet they just continued to "Rince and repeat it". It's the little things like these that make Family Guy a very mediocre show these days. I seen a few episodes of family guy some were hilarious & others not so much, It just seem that it is in a slump but it's nothing that can't be fixed with a little more effort, of course I haven't been watching it for very long & have not seen enough of it to have a fair comparison of how it was & how it is now.

I like Family over American Dad by a lot but I haven't checked out the most recent episodes.
