If Kansas wins I'm driving five and a half hours back to my hometown on campus to celebrate.

srsly

Not that I don't think they can win, but I honestly didn't know how good of a year we'd have without Julian Wright.

I've already won my bracket, but I'm still pulling for a Memphis win tonight.

I'm probably the worst basketball player on MFG and I think I could have won the game for my team. That was beyond ridiculous.

And Kansas wins in a decent, but not-too-great finals. Have fun partying on campus Teecee.

If Stern gets his wish and the min. age requirement for the NBA gets pushed up another year, NCAAB might become a bit more exiciting again, but the players have to agree to it in the CBA negotiations, and it still won't be as great as in the 90s. We all know Stephen Curry will not be declaring for the draft, I'm eager to see who else (Mayo, Beasley perhaps), decide to stay.

I don't know much about basketball games, but how was that "decent?" Memphis had at least four opportunities to put the game away, and they missed all of the free throws. Kansas was almost done for and they won in overtime. If that's decent, maybe I should start watching more basketball... but I won't, because I think that game was better than decent.

links, Empathy is right. The game ended, and they announced they were airing it on ESPN Classic the next night.

I know Memphis missed free throws, but I'm tired of everybody crediting them for blowing the game. Which team nabbed the inbounds pass to hit the three with under a minute and a half to go to pull the game within 4? Kansas. Which team attacked an out of position Joey Dorsey to force his 5th foul? Kansas. Which team hit the big shot to take it to overtime? Kansas. Oh, and which team dominated in overtime to win the title? Kansas. I rest my case.

While that being true, Teecee, none of those steals or fouls would've mattered had their star players hit their free throws to make it more than a three-point game. Memphis beat Memphis.

Memphis beat Memphis to some extent, but Kansas was able to convert on their posessions in the end, whereas Memphis was not. Also, Kansas' defense wasn't their best this year, but still good, and it helped them win.

Ok, I was giving it less credit than it deserved when I called it just decent, but it was not an all-time great game. If it wasn't for the game pushing into overtime, and everything that happened in overtime, the actual basketball in the game was good, but not great. I'll admit I had fun watching it, but my point was that I've seen better in NCAAB.

If Kansas' star players can hit timely shots when needed and Memphis' top dogs can't, wouldn't that make Kansas the favorite to win down the stretch regardless?

We could keep this going for awhile, but my point is, both teams had shots to hit and the Jayhawks were able to knock them down.
