I too read it as a class assignment. It was fun and informing (somewhat) but it basically teaches lessons. Can't remember much of it now but it was a decent read.

Lol a To Kill a Mocking Bird manga, that would be epic.
But yeah seriously, this is a great book. The themes it portrays are, like, never ending. Even if Kenshi or Groundwalker came into this thread now and started rambling on about the themes that Berserk portrays: Sadness, fear, alienation, bitterness, betrayal, corruption; it could all be countered with this book. The themes this book portrays is love, racism, prejudice, courage, bravery, pride, naivety, friendship, alienation, sadness, maturity, identity, justice, injustice, fear. These are only a few, I could go on. Atticus's character is so deep. The courage he went through to defend Tom Robinson even know he knew he couldn't win, the determination to shoot the stray dog even know he convinced himself he would never fire a gun again in his life... as it turns out, he is an excellent gun man. Also, take Scout. I hated her character, but it played such an epic part of the storyline. The entire story was her adult self recapping all the events. However, what was really entertaining and deep is that her naivety played a HUGE role concerning the lynch mob that threatened to kill Tom Robinson. Scout didn't know, she was unfortunate yet she had an advantage. The book portrays this brilliantly.

We were suppose to read it in English class, but ended up with Of Mice and Men
"Deorge...DEORGE"" So I got a copy from my aunt and sat down one day to see what the big deal was. I enjoy it greatly but it didn't change my life and doesn't rank in my my top 5 books, but it's in my top 10 list. I hope they do not remake the movie cos remakes scare me.
