Thus far, Avatar has been a very dramatic, hillarious, action-filled show that broke the mold of standard anime. I mean, other animes are great, but this, among Teen Titans and the Boondocks, is the greatest American anime. Season 2 has proven to be very promising in its constituiton, having shown a great episode last Friday. Azula is one of the new villains of Season 2 and has become like a replacement of Prince Zuko. Let me explain this way:
-Azula has more power and can control electricity, like Iroh. She hasn't sofar shown power over fire, but over electricity, instead. She will show fire later in the season, most likely. She is alot less emotionally controlled than Zuko and seems more maliscious. Azula's new quest is to capture the two "traitors", Retired General Iroh and Exiled Prince Zuko. -At the end of the episode, Zuko is shown with Iroh near a river, cutting off their topknots. This, therefore, signifies a penultimate new beginning for Zuko and Iroh. a. Zuko and Iroh are exiled, branded for capture, and therefore must cut their ties with the Fire Nation. The hair seems to show that they are royal family members, as seen on Fire Lord Ozai's hair and on Azula's. b. Zuko and Iroh can never go home, unless they(most likely) redeem themselves. They are fugitives. c. They are shedding resemblances to the Fire Nation and beginning a new life. -The Avatar is the main focus of the show, therefore, Azula is going to either be focused on the main goal, which is capturing the Avatar, or, capturing the fugitives. It is most likely the latter. Aang is also changing in several ways. He is going to have to master Waterbending and Earthbending in this season, knowing that it is now spring. You can tell by the changes in the ouftits of three characters- Pakku, having a different outfit, Katara, with shorter sleeves and baggier pants, and Sokka, having no sleeves at all. Therefore, it is now spring. Theories a. Aang and Katara will train alot in Waterbending, during the season, while Aang focuses to learn Earthbending. There also seems to be signs of a growing relationship between the two, as shown in the trailer for the next episode. b. Zuko and Iroh will help the Avatar and the Earth Kingdom by betraying the Fire Nation. Zuko and Iroh will train the Avatar in Firebending, most likely. Eventually, Jeong Jeong will be found by the Earth Kingdom and join their ranks as a military consultant. c. Haru will return, creating a stir between Aang and Katara. Jet will most likely return and see the error of his ways. d. Fire Lord Ozai's face will be revealed, or, an episode devoted to how and why the war began will air, going on for one hour and will show Aang's past. Several ancestors of main characters will be shown and the first Comet of Souzan will be revealed. e. The foaming guy and the cabbage guy will make return appearances. f. Aang will discover that there are other Airbenders left. g. Sokka will become a seasoned warrior, having some degree of training. However, the series has focused more on his intellect, when referring to Sokka, than his warrior skills. h. Ba Sing Sei will be revealed for the first time, as the Avatar travels to it. The king of the Earth Kingdom will be revealed and will train with Aang. i. New characters will obviously be revealed. Maybe, Aang will get a new rival. Zuko has been considered a character like Alan Moore's comic book version of V, who can either be seen as good, or, bad. The movie version shows him as more of a protagonist. Zuko is similar, but is leaning towards being a protagonist and will, one day, be torn between black or white. This character will most likely play a role like Sasuke or Vegeta. j. There will be at least one allusion to Japanese anime, hopefully either DBZ, Naruto, or Rurouni Kenshin. |

Did you know that cutting their top knots off symbolizes that they can't go back to the Fire Nation. It's a Japanese tradition.
It's a good show, I missed a good bit of the first season ending. Though I started to watch it again. I have it set on my timer now so I can't miss it. It's still as good as ever man. By the by, thanks for the summary to catch me up. Anyway, Zuko's sister is ...Damn I hate her so much.

I saw the latest episode of Avatar, and it was excellent. It seems that two new characters have been introduced and are Azula's new tricked-out teammates. Ty Lee is a former circus performer that has a special brand of martial arts. One time, Ty Lee exploited pressure points in Katara's arms, causing Katara's Waterbending to be stopped for a small amount of time. Mai has special mastery of weapons like ninja stars and is an agile, quick warrior. Azula, sofar, is seen as more than a Firebender. She can use lightning, as well. Her quest is now to capture the two 'traitors' and the Avatar. Good luck with that.
Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai are a match for Aang and his team, making even odds. It seems Mai has a crush on Zuko, from towards the end of the episode. Ty Lee says, "It will be really nice to see Zuko again. Won't it, Mai?" Mai just looked away, smiling. In a way, the three fighters are all different, but make a great team. Mai is completely bored with her life and is just very gloomy, Azula is cunning, manipulative, and has an evil streak, and Ty Lee is fun and kind, but never stops fighting. |
