It would seem to me that when you start a saga or fight that you shouldn't be able to bring anything to that saga or fight. I mean, wouldn't it be a little weird to just suddenly bust out an entirely new attack right in the middle of a battle? Or what if an item just "appeared" out of nowhere. Not only would that be weird, it would totally freak your opponent out...

Not completly. Unless the person could read your mind and know every little detail, they wouldn't know the number of attacks you have. Same could go for weapons. If a person wanted, they could use a capsule to contain whether than bein' loaded down with multiple items. That. or use your own character's picture and have items attributed to something you're wearing.

I dunno.... while I'll admit that what you're saying makes sense, it would seem to me to be a better idea to just use the snap shot guide. Still gain experience and level up like normal, but for that particular fight/saga, you can only use what you had when you started.
That's just my two cents though...

Technically, the only thing you can use in a Saga that you got after joining are attacks.

Actually about items in general, is it not rather... odd.... for a character to be festooned with, liek, 3 swords, claws, armour, a scouter, and god knows what else? Aside from lack of ways to wield them, shouldn't being overloaded with weapons make it awkward to move about/whatever? Which... might be where a capsule item would be useful...

@Eragon: Not necessarily. I could equip Un with three swords tied to his belt. Then he could have a pouch or two for throwing daggers. His close-range daggers would be equipped in the front of his waist. Then, against his pack, there could be a halberd and an ax. Right there, that's 13 items. (3 Swords + 4 Throwing Daggers + 4 Close-Range Daggers + Halberd + Ax)

Dude, these are people that benchpress several tons for a warm up exercise. I don't think a few bits of metal will bother them.

There is no training during a saga or battle. Period. The only EXP you gain is from your daily 50 points and the boost from the saga/battle. Items can't be used if they were purchased or created after the saga/battle began, reason being it'd be a bit odd to run off in mid battle to buy or make an item.
Attacks, however, can be used as soon as they are learned. Reason being it'd be possible to pick up an attack by seeing someone else do it or even to master an attack on the fly in battle. |
