OOC ~ Yeaaah, I'm jumping on this bandwagon. ^_^ seriously. She needs some practice. <_< >_>
Her arms were crossed firmly under her chest, bronze serpents writing every so often, as her shrouded eyes scanned the area. Every so often, she would bite at her lower lip, though this was in no way a nervous habit. It simply displayed her anticipation - she did not wish to pass the time by simply standing there, though that was already evident. She murmured a little - words that could not be made out from listening to her, or reading her lips; one would think she was simply displaying her impatience vocally, as well as physically. The serpents seemed to share in such an emotion. There movements became more swift and rapid as they, too, waited for an opponent; some would think that they wished to draw blood, though in truth, they were simply restless creatures. "Hurry." She whispered, pacing the area. It was undoubtedly barren - here and there, the broken bones of animals, with their corpses long decayed littered the ground, half hidden by dust. The sky wa a stretch of both orange and red ... the time would seem close to sunset, though it was impossible to tell in such a place. The ground was craxked in places - obviously starved of all liquid, aside from blood, in the past few years. It did not matter to the demon girl. The deserted area streched far enough to allow for a worthy bout ... and penty of bloodshed.

[OOC: I'll take you. Editting the in-character part atm.]
========================================= Like the rain, it comes, slowly but surely at first, to reach its climax in a violent storm that threatens to drown all within its reach, and soon it slowly dies out in a few, final drops in the emptiness... indeed, a warrior's life is very much like the rain... ========================================= Now you're obviously thinking that this epic intro has something to do with Pein's arrival. GUESS WHAT, NO. This is Pein we are talking about - the embodiment of anti-climax. Nothing epic can relate to Pein, ever. Instead, you get this: Pein: HAI GAIZ!! IT'S TIME FOR SOME QUALITY BUTTSECKS, INDEED!! No. ========================================= The rain, then - a fitting setting indeed for a time of death, the undoing of lives so short they resemble nothing but a passing storm. A single drop first, rapidly devoured by the thirsty land. The orange shades of the setting sun quickly replaced by the black of soot, the heart of midnight. In a few eyeblinks, a storm reigned above and around the single being standing amidst these desert plains. No violent thunders crashing down from the heavens, the wrath of the sky mercilessly shattering the land. No, the rain was heavy and persistant, a veil of tears rippling in between reality and dream. In this darkness, a figure stirred. It would take great perception to see him in this rain, and even more to actually tell him apart from another illusion in the darkness, but he was there. For what purpose, it was unknown, but if, by any chance, that person went by the name of Pein, the one who, in another time and world, led the notorious organization known as Akatsuki, one could hazard a guess that that purpose was all but promising for the well-being of those caught up in his path, be it willingly or not. ========================================= Stats: Strength: 167 Vitality: 167 Focus: 196 Constitution: 196 Dexterity: 167 Speed: 167 Ki: 6,000 - 300 = 5,700 Health: 2,000 [Amegakure no Jutsu used, Ki Cost = 300] ========================================= [OOC: Damn, I definately need practice. Anyway, as implied, for now Pein is only waiting in his rain]

OOC ~ Bu--oh thank GOD. xD anyways, thanks ^^ ... and you're already beating me into the ground. .-. lol
Stats: Total: 17,000 Strength: 169 Vitality: 159 Focus: 169 Constituion: 159 Dexterity: 200 Speed: 280 Ki: 7,500 Health: 2,500 "Impossible." The female murmured, as her eyes settled on what she presumed was a figure in the distance, though she could not be sure ... it was strange; no rain had fallen in this desolate place for years, and yet now, it fell in continuous tumult. It seemed to, anyway. Jemmelle could not quite tell, save for the spot of pure darkness that contrasted to violently with the ruby of the sky. "A challenger!?" She called, more loudly than before, this time, as she stepped ever closer to the spot where the rain fell ... she was not quite sure if a challenger truly met her shrouded gaze just yet, or whether it was simply the kind of mirage caused all too commonly by the heat of this deserted land. She had quite forgotten that she was not a sufferer of illusions all that often ... that this was something much, much different to a mirage. Her bare feet made no sound against the dusty ground, though the soft hiss of the serpents around her was more than enough to resound in the barren land. As she neared, the female's unseen eyes narrowed - she was not quite sure who, or what, this rain was, or what it signalled ... but a challenge was always a challenge. The shimmering quality, too, caused her to be drawn in. Without any other physical signals, the demon girl took a run at the supposed figure, only the vague shadow of an attack readied. She was not quite smart enough to determine the true identity of her challenger, just yet. |

Like a fleeting shadow, like the whisper of the wind, the figure stirred, quite literally flowing out of the path of the young female, sidestepping her reckless charge. If it weren't for the brush of her hand against his shoulder, she might have thought him an illusion, such was the swiftness and silence of his movement.
That notion would soon be dispelled either way - at this distance, even if the rest of his body was just a shade, the mysterious man's eyes glowed crystal-clear in the darkness, five concentric circles swirling within each of the pupils - a trick of the colors, or were they really in motion? The frightening Rin'negan, the eyes of rebirth, they shone like a beacon in the moistrous darkness. Silent as a serpent, a hand uncoiled behind the female, slowly but surely going for a tight grip on the girl's neck that would disable her movements. A battle was underway, yet only the monotonous sound of the rain interrupted the silence that had fallen after Jemelle's proclamation of challenge. ================================== [OOC: Well, I know Jemelle is faster than Pein, but taking the limited visibility and mobility due to the rain as well as the distance between them, I don't think it's particularly godmoddish. Anyway, I'll stick more to the stats from this post on =/] ========================================= Stats: Strength: 167 Vitality: 167 Focus: 196 Constitution: 196 Dexterity: 167 Speed: 167 Ki: 5,700 - 300 = 5,400 Health: 2,000 [Amegakure no Jutsu maintained, Ki Cost = 300]

"Damn it." The female muttered, the volume of her voice not even breaking the silence that had long since fallen. Her unseen pupils contracted a little, as her hand brushed against the shoulder of her competitor - whoever he was, he was real. However, he had evaded her onslaught ... admittedly, it had not been much of an attack, though she had always thought herself to be giften in the way of speed. To be
evaded was simply something else. She could not see her true opponent ... even with her inhuman shell, she could not truly percieve him. The only feature that she could truly see were his eyes ... features that seemed to draw her in all the more; her weakness, all things that shined with a somewhat majestic light, did not subside in wany way during battle. Something brushed against her neck - her immediate guess was a limb of some sort ... or at leant an appendage of the being. She could barely see him, she was unsure of his true abilities ... for all she knew, he could be a shapeshifter. As that same appendage began to close in on her strangely shaded skin, the female thrust an elbow backwards, her fist balled - this time with certain intent. A thin vapour began to rise around the female ... not entirely noticeable, and shimmering as the demon girl's opponent did. Alongside her balled fist ... a small shockwave of energy was sent twards Pein - and Jemmelle could only hope it would work. ~*~ OOC ~ That's fine xD ... just makes things more fun. >D .. .but yeah *nods* no worries - like I said, more fun. =P ~*~ Stats: Total: 17,000 Strength: 169 Vitality: 159 Focus: 169 Constituion: 159 Dexterity: 200 Speed: 280 Ki: 7,500 - 450 = 7,050 ki remaining Health: 2,500 |

[OOC: OH SHI~ I just realized I'm one level below you. Lol.]
======================================== This time, the attack connected, and the shadowy shape staggered backwards, releasing Jemelle's neck, sliding a few feet over the muddy ground. However, he soon regained his balance, and the strange eyes that had flickered for a moment regained their composure, calmly gazing into the female. A sudden lightning flashed between them, the force of striking thunder sending small pieces of mud and soil flying off the ground. In that brief light, the figure of the man was revealed. Tall, with dirty blonde hair, shrouded in a knee-length black cloak decorated with white-outlined crimson clouds he looked imposing, even threatening. Traces of crimson stained the left shoulder of his cloak, where the attack had struck. As the afterglow of the thunderbolt subsided, one would barely have had time to notice Pein's hands moving in a rapid motion, the rest of the seal hidden by the abrupt darkness that fell again. "Your intent to kill me is amusing, if not irrational." His voice resounded in the cold, the flapping of the wind and the rain almost completely squelching the sound. Silently, five vertical shafts of twirling water formed around Jemelle, each creeping in around her, in an attempt to imprison her in a liquid cage. ======================================== Stats: Strength: 167 Vitality: 167 Focus: 196 Constitution: 196 Dexterity: 167 Speed: 167 Ki: 5,400 - 800 = 4,600 Health: 2,000 - something = something else. Lol. [Amegakure no Jutsu maintained, Ki Cost = 300] [Arashi Kyoubou no Jutsu used, Ki Cost = 500]

OOC ~ My damn IE is the suckiest thing alive. I swear. x_X sorry for the lateness ... and as for the level, that's impossible! I'm ALWAYS the weakest! =D
The female's barely shrounded eyes were set upon the male, gazing intently at him as his figure was revealed, in the brief flash of lightning. She had never encountered the images that adorned his cloak before. And she had certainly not intended to cause the injury upon his left shoulder. It was far too early on in the battle for such a thing. The demon girl could feel her opponent's eyes upon her ... though her eyes failed to absorb the movements of his hands - she simply continued forward, speaking calmly in response. "Kill you? Oh, no. I'd only have to do that if I stole from you." The female explained, in response to Pein's comment. "A battle is far too much fun to end." A smirk began to stretch across her thin lips as she carried on her path, not seeming to notice the shafts, until it was clearly too late - she was already imprisoned. No alarm showed on her face ... she simply kepy the neutral expression, though thoughts of panic began to enclose her mind ... her opponent clearly had the upper hand. "Damn it." She muttered beneath her breath, observing the shafts quickly with her eyes. Her next move was to be as reckless as the first. She began to inhale, though the surrounding area would not be particularly useful in this instance, she had just enough within her to aid her attack. Without warning, she propelled a stream of flames from her mouth, aiming them at the watery cage, as if hoping to break its confines. ~*~*~ Level: 6 Experience: 900 Stats: Total: 21,000 Strength: 222 Vitality: 212 Focus: 222 Constituion: 212 Dexterity: 255 Speed: 335 Ki: 8,550 - 300 ki = 8,250 ki remaining Health: 3,000 |
