Beautiful Illusion

Here it is! MFG BB! I'm trying to keep this as close to the show as possible, so this first part will be the Live Launch tour of the house, and the next will be introductions. After that is where it REALLY starts to get fun - I'll post this part, and hopefully I'll get some feedback on the style of writing xD if there's anything you want changed about the way I'm writing this, speak now: once I'm past the launch, it won't change. xD

MFG Big Brother

Chapter 1 - Pilot/Live Launch Show [Part One]

She squinted as the noise of the crowds overwhelmed her - or would have, anyway. The female was almost screaming into the large microphone she held, a small box attached to the item, the initials 'MFG BB' emblazoned onto it. She did not seem to care much for her short, brown hair, a few strands having been blown about her face by some sort of breeze - where this came from did not seem to be apparent - as the rest was held firmly in place by what seemed to be at least one can of hairspray. A basic black dress, crew cut at the neck, clung tightly to her svelte body - the kind that only celebrities seemed to have. Yet, she paid no attention to it; all this woman was concerned with, it would seem, was the entertainment of the tumultuous crowds that surrounded her, as well as the millions that would be glued to their television sets at this exact moment.

Presenter: Hello, and welcome to the first ever MFG Big Brother! In just over half an hour, our fifteen housemates will be entering this house, in the hopes of winning the grand prize! Let me tell you, it'll be a gruelling few months for these housemates ...

She paused for a few moments, to allow for the crowd's reaction - another gigantic cheer, perhaps a little louder this time, though otherwise it would seem as though these people were stuck on repeat. The camera continued to follow the black-clad female, as she moved ever closer to the house, though various signs could be seen clearly, held by members of the screaming crowd. Apparently, these were the friends and relations of those about to enter the house, as many of them bore some description of a personal message.
Presenter: Now, before our exclusive, guided tour of the Big Brother house, why don't we take a glance at some of the thousands that didn't make it into the house this time? ... and some that will probably never make it ... due to censorship issues, and the safety of other housemates.

Another tumultuous roar from the surrounding crowds seemed to pave way for the tape that rolled on the large screen on the opposing side of the site. The crowds turned to face it, as what seemed to be hundreds of faces flickered for only seconds on the screen. The variety of people seemed somewhat odd - some were dressed rather conservatively, whereas others looked as though they had been drafted in from the circus, or some other organisation where their attire would have been acceptable (such as a burlesque.) One by one, the characters appeared, each only able to speak a few lines of their audition video before the tape cut to the next.

Unhopeful #1: I'd make the perfect contestant for the house. I'm smart, funny, attractive, I can cook, I can entertain I can--
Unhopeful #2: I'd do anything to get in the house! LET ME IN!
Unhopeful #3: Would I like to be on TV? Fuck no. I wanna meet new people?
Unhopeful #4: I can dance, Big Brother!!
Unhopeful #5: Hiiii Big Brother! I'm here and I'm ready to get in the Big Brother House, so please pick me!
Unhopeful #6: Pleaaaaaaase pick me! Please, I'd make the show SO interesting, I'd make it awesome--
Big Brother: Please get out of the Diary Room.
Unhopeful #7: Fuck off you loser.

As the tape finished, the cameras made their way back to the female presenter, who now seemed to be resting her feet upon some description of a seat, whilst sitting back on a large, brightly coloured sofa - what appeared to be one of many, in various colours. There was an expression that could only be labelled as 'smug' upon her face, as she looked around the room, followed closely by the camera crew.

Presenter: Well, here we have it! The first ever MFG Big Brother House! Ohh, isn't it lovely? Of course, this is the nerve centre of all housemate interaction ... or at least most of it. The living room!

The female seemed to move around so rapidly that the camera was struggling to keep up with her movements. In fact, it was probably more accurate to say that she appeared to be on some sort of sugar high (albeit one that only seemed to be present when she herself was in the presence of a camera) which simply led to ever more screams of delight from the surrounding crowds. As she paced the living room rather quickly, a number of the plush seats could be seen, as well as the beige flooring, which seemed to be of a freshly varnished wooden quality. A small coffee table was lodged at the centre of each sofa or armchair (all of which appeared to be shaped in a rather retro persuasion) and from above, bright white lighting adorned the entire room, in spite of the fact that the sky was still only orange to signify the middle of the evening. As the woman moved on, she opened a silver door rather swiftly, as though it had no hinges, and led the camera through to the next room.

Presenter: It's gorgeous! It's just completely gorgeous!

She was referring to the abundance of king-sized double beds, each of which possesed a mirror above them with a small counter for items such as make-up and deodorant.

Presenter: At first, we considered giving the housemates only the basics, but our team snuck this one in. The catch is, though, there are only seven beds, so if our hourmates want one, they'll have to share! And look at the carpet!

At this point, she seemed to lunge herself onto the large, white carpet that was set against ever more beige floorboards. It was much less like a carpet, and much more like a mass of ivory fluff that had decided to stay and grow on the floor, though the woman appeared very fond of it as she rolled over, and expression on her face that would suggest she was laying on one of the beds, rather than an extremely fluffy carpet.

Presenter: Ohhhh, what a wonderful room - it's a shame that only a few people get to sleep in it.

Her face certainly did not seem to agree with the words she had spoken - a devious smirk countered the words 'its a shame' as she opened two large glass doors, an ajoining room to what would be called the 'luxury bedroom'. The beige wooden floor seemed continuous, though this room possessed light blue tiles on its walls, as well as the odd wooden ledge adorned by cushions - designed specifically for seating. In one corner of the room, a largem white bowl seemed present - large enough to hold at least people, and furnished with two taps, inset with shiny red and blue plastics; one for 'hot and one for 'cold'. Needless to say, this was the bath, and the female perched herself on the edge of it as she showed the camera crew around.

Presenter: And this, of course, is the bathroom! The only one with a bath, shower, and hot water.

She motioned to a glass cubicle in the opposing corner of the room as she mentioned the shower - large, glistening, tansparent, but it appeared to be extremely nice.

Presenter: Now, anyone in the bedroom can see you in here, so houemates have to be careful what they do ... added to the fact that there are cameras everywhere. But, this lovely room will belong only to the housemates that claim the luxury bedroom first! But ... shall we press on?

She did not allow for an answer to the question as she pushed bach through the glass doors, as well as the silver one, pacing across the living area and into a rather small ajoining area, decorated with various knives and cooking items, and shiny black work-surfaces, accompanied by an oven, fridge, microwave and every other amenity found in the kitchen. In spite of being fully-equipped, however, the room was surprisingly small ... no matter how hard anyone tried, fifteen poeple would not fit.

Presenter: Ahhh, yes, the kitchen ... of course, the state of housemates' hunger depends on how well they do in their shopping tasks! So maybe the small size of this place won't matter all that much; then again, it isn't the size that matters, it's how you use it.

She herself did not seem all too impressed with her use of the age-old phrase. Apparently, neither did the beings that surrounded her. With a slight pink tinge in her cheeks, the female motioned to the various cooking utensils and well-equipped kitchen once again, before moving quickly past another transparent table, this time accompanied by sixteen red chairs.

Presenter: Dining area, which is self-explanatory, and ...

She smirked as she opened yet another silver door, on the opposing side of the room. It was a stark contrast to the luxury rooms, with small beds that seemed to be held up only by their metal framework. The mattresses were extremely thin, and covered only by what appeared to be a single blue sheet. Plastic boxes had been stored under the beds, presumably for the storage of housemates' belongings, and no such thing as a fluffy carpet lay on the floor this time.

Presenter: Look at how terrible this is! This is where the remaining housemates will be spending their days. Will they all take it in turns? I doubt it! And ...

She moved on swiftly, seemingly running out of time, and fast; she barely allowed for a glimpse of the pweter-walled bathroom, with no such thing as a warm shower, and most certainly no bath.

Presenter: The basic bedroom's very own bathroom. C'mon.

The female did not pause to allow the camera crew a better look as she exited out of the same door. Instead, she cut across the living area once more, sliding open two large glass doors that it might have been hard to miss before. Needless to say, she was touring the garden, now - an area that, weather permitting, would be something of a haven to the housemates. The grass was astro-turf, but it was not this that took the eyes of the viewer. A large, blue pool took up much of the garden area - big enough for all the housemates and deep enough to engulf some of the shorter ones.

Presenter: Majority ruled on getting a pool installed here! This should provide some fun for the housemates, when they aren't busy completing the shopping tasks ...

The cameras seemed to whirl around the garden as the followed the female ever further, this time as she opened a door emblazoned with a large eye at the opposing end of the garden - apparently, the housemates would have to cross the garden no matter what weather if they were summoned to the diary room. On either side of the door there were a set of stairs leading upwards to a balcony - this was the balcony upon which housemates would enter and exit the house - generally via the door placed directly above that of the diary room. However, the woman was not ready to exit yet, it seemed. Sliding open the door decorated with an eye, she sat herself upon a large, purple armchair - obviously, the diary room.

Presenter: The most private room in the house, this is, of course, where all the bitching will happen. So ... yes. Lovely and comfortable, though - if you're going to tear a strip out of someone, why not do it here?

Yet another smirk crossed her face as she rose from the chair, rushing out of the diary room and up the stairs, not even allowing for one last pan of the house as she beckoned to the camera crew. As she exited, performing something that looked strangely like a power-walk in high heels across the bridge that joined the house to the outside world, she was met with the loudest scream yet - the crowd had obviously noticed the vans, each cointaining one or two housemates, arriving just below the large screen.

Presenter: And now, the moment pretty much everyone's been waiting for ... Please welcome our housemates!

Heh heh. Anywho, I liked the writing. 'Tis perfect for this story. I suppose the pilot/introduction of the house was a must. I also noticed the way you lightened the mood with Lulz. Ha. Good thinking. But now, I am really waiting for the entrance of the house guests! Hope I get to make a Lol Worthy entrance.

Oh, by the way, 'Matt' tends to be aggresive like Ryu Hayabusa when treated unfairly... so... if the people don't have a good reason for taking the Better-Quality Bedrooms, he'll go apeshit on them. Especially on that Niku swine. :P

I loves my cliffhangers ;] ... but indeed - I basically used that little pre-requisite as an excuse to pilot this thing. xD on with the show!

Lol, thank for the response guys! =D it makes me happy. ^_^ ... I know this first bit was a long haul ... xD but like I say, this was just my excuse to gain opinions on the writing style for this thing. xD I'm writing the first 'official' chapter as we type ... so it shouldn't be long, now! ^^ ... I'm fine with the skim reading, for the reasons I mentioned, I'm just glad this has had a good response thus far. =)

It'll be up either tonight or tomorrow, I'm as excited about this as you all are. xD
