Location: Cinnabar Island Pokemon Gym. Encased in a huge volcano, this arena is designed for brutal one-on-one fights. Molten lava spewing beneath, jagged rocks threatening to impale whoever let themselves be tossed against them, the heat, a stark contrast against the cool afternoon that lay outside, making even the most hard-skinned uncomfortable. A confined space to fight in, but the high temperature and the terrain make it ideal for a furious life-and-death struggle. And with the giant mound gaping open beyond their feet, threatening to erupt at any time consuming them in its hellish wrath, death may come from where you least expect it.

Time of Day: Afternoon.

OOC: I'm setting you up in close quarters, since to my understanding, neither of your characters has godly mobility. Good luck, and have fun.

Poliwrath...was shocked he was no stranger to a one on one battle, or the fact he was placed in of ring of the infamous Cinnabar Island. Though the blue creature looked almost enraged, as his white glyph stomach became enlarged, the humidity of the arena almost voiced it's burning rage. The Pokémon’s hitch was he would be fighting the same deranged Vulpix he had seen earlier; and he wasn't here to fight Pokémon. The grand heat made the tadpole break a small tear of sweat over his forehead, although for something covered in refined fur and himself covered in smooth scaleless skin, the tempetautre between the two would have no comparison.

No matter he had battled here before, with his former astute trainer in such a circumstance and he had taught him brilliant tactics against Blaine’s Fire type Pokémon. Though to Poliwrath it was shame; as you and I know the wolf that he would skirmish with……was no Pokémon "Poliiiii ".

Poliwrath took one stepped forward, then with his next step of his protracted azure feet; he entered into some form of tribal dance. He span around twice while keeping his arms straight like an aeroplane, then he began to swing them to and throw. It then did a half spin to face forward and then jumped no more than a meter into the air.

Without a second more, grey clouds began to form and heavy rain began to fall upon them. The blistering rain began to steam as it touching the arena floor but, it still continued to rain without any form of hesitance creating a grand smokescreen of smoke. The steaming rain wouldn’t break the accuracy of them too much, but with Poliwrath’s small size, it may be hard to see him at all. He landed the smoking ground he looked happy if only for a moment as this was the Rain Dance move "WRATPHH". Poliwrath squinted his eyes, and his swirl became small once more. Poliwrath activated his Lock-On technique, there was no way he could miss his next move.

Following Poliwrath's movements, light tapping grew louder and louder as they seemed to approach the Pokèmon. Within a matter of seconds, a taller -- but not by much -- figure stood over the blue Pokèmon, sharp claws on his padded hips. Covering every inch of his body, excluding his neck, head, and hands, the furry combatant held a sinister smirk etched in his face, his black, beastly eyes watching Poliwrath.

"Hmph, you're my opponent? I should have went a few rounds with Fox instead," Wolf bragged, crossing his arms over his chest. Even though his speech said otherwise, he knew this was a fight, and anyone he fought would be a challenge since they were in the tournament itself. Keeping his distance from Poliwrath, Wolf shifted his left hand to his waist, the furry paw held a small device -- what the Pokèmon didn't know was that it was his reflector, ready to be activated at the sign of an attack.

Poliwrath began to realise that the creature before him wasn't a Pokémon, but a Pokémon crossed with a human! As it was spoke human words, though he ignored it. Still fustrated with his opponent, it began to blink rapidly...it's eyes becoming more intense as time passed on. Regarudless of what it was, it was still a fire based creature, and it would make it an easy victory for the water based Poliwrath, in reality there would be no competition. Yet it stood there thinking; as the steaming arena had turned the volcanic ring into clouds of white smoke. The rain still blistedered upon him like bullets, there was no wind to interrupt its course into the burning battle ground. With such a screen of cloud, and blasts of heavy rain they would easily be used for an advantage.

Poliwrath watched as the furry beast brought forth a weapon like object for it's side "......Pol". The reaction of the creature was calm, though if he could Poliwrath would have smiled. Pokémon also used artifical weapons. Poliwrath hopped on both feets above the steam clouds, it's blue body becoming submerged in the rain. It spun head first, clockwise and at first it seemed to stop but it was constanly spinning. Forming a perfect oval of white and azure colours. It hit the ground creating a loud clacking sound, it vibrated across the arena floor. The rotating force of the Pokémon; sucked all the steam around it.

"Poliiiiiiii....wrathhh!!!!!!!!" The Pokémon rolled towards the beast like a steam train. It's target wasn't the Wolf, but victory.

"What the...?" Wolf questioned himself, seeing Poliwrath barrel towards him. The reflector wouldn't work on a physical attack -- Wolf knew he would have to act quickly, or he would be pummeled by the attack. Crouching down on all fours, it seemed as if he were going to dart forward and attempt to match the Pokèmon's attack, but he pushed himself up in the air, leaving a trail of purple light -- or what seemed like it -- behind his airborne body.

His body twisted slightly in the air, leaving him facing Poliwrath upside down. It didn't matter to him, however, as he drew the blaster that was placed on his holster. The entire weapon appeared similar to an ordinary gun, until one's view reached the tip, where a protruding claw reached from under the barrel to just in front of the blaster, slightly under where each bullet fired would be aimed. With a green tint coming shortly after Wolf drawing the weapon, it fired, a green, flame-like bullet flying from the blaster and towards the back of Poliwrath.

It would be near impossible for Poliwrath to evade the blast, though it should have been impossible for the Wolf to to dogde Poliwrath Rollout, with its activated Lock-On technique.

Instantly a golden sheet appeared infront of the spinning Pokémon and it made no attempt to move. The green blast volted on the sheet, and then passed unto Poliwrath. "Ooolliii" it would seem it cried in pain, though why would it remain stationary in it's riotous spinning state? Directly from where the blast had entered it fired straight back from Poliwrath at the aflared wolfman. It would be sure to hit it, as the green flamed shot seemed stronger and faster than the last. Poliwrath bounced itself into the air above Wolf, with extreme speed.

OOC - I used the Mirror Coat hax. Oh and i've never ever played Brawl!

The blast crashed into the chest of Wolf, sending him high up and into a rock, crashing through it. Flipping over, he touched a piece of the rock with one of his feet, hopping off of it. He landed softly on the battlefield, his eyes wondering left and right in search of Poliwrath. The Star Wolf leader didn't notice Pokèmon jump over him after reflecting the attack. He continued to search, taking a few steps foreword, before he began to get agitated.

"Come on, you little ball. Stop hiding and fight me," he spoke, turning around, in case Poliwrath tried to attack from behind. Suddenly, his head was tossed back, his back arched. Escaping his throat, a loud howl filled the volcano, calling out for Poliwrath.

Poliwrath wished he could speak human, like a Psychic Pokémon, so he would be able to hurl insults at the human-dog. He was limited to an angry chant of it's species tongue....."WRATHH".

Still spinning above the arena floor, amidst the heavy rain that would enhance any water based attack he would let rip. Poliwrath released itself from it's snug grip and it fell motionless like a grounded Goldeen.

As it began to come into the feild's focus of the razor sharp rocks, it's glyph upon its stomach began to glow a faint watery blue. It then became larger as the glow became more visible; without warning or even a sound; an immense amount of water blasted itself from Poliwrath waving toward Wolf. The water seemed to make the heavy raindrops nothing in comparison, it sounded hurrendous clashing against the feild floor, it was as if a Tidal wave had been channeled into one flack toward him.

Poliwrath was so certain as he continued to pummel the water from his body, so powerful that it kept him hovering the air; blasting him higher and higher. That there was no possible way the "human-dog" could survive the awesome blast's impact and not be carried away by its grand current into the pit of blistering lava. The blast was covered the entire feild. Although this Pokémon had everything if not most things calculated, he knew nothing of the power of men.

In all honestly, the tidal wave that rushed across the field towards his body frightened Wolf. His Reflector wouldn't even stop it -- it wasn't meant to handle gigantic attacks, only small projectiles -- and he didn't have the speed to physically dodge it. Of course, he had been through worse; the smirk that grew on his furry snout seemed to signal that he had thought of something.

His arms quickly moved to cover his chest. As he did so, a mysterious pink orb surrounded his body, faint enough so that he could see out and Poliwrath could see in. That water crashed into it with tremendous force -- each passing second made the barrier shrink in size. It wasn't until he realized that the bubble was about to touch his body -- if it did, it would easily break from too much pressure -- that he began to move. His gray, furry body flashed a bright light for a moment, and he flipped forward, a clawed paw reaching to touch the pavement. With a final push, he propelled himself a few feet into the air, landing back on his feet and pass the rest of the wave of water.

"Heh," he chuckled, the smirk growing into a sinister grin when he reached for his blaster once again. The heavy boots he wore spun on the rock under his feet, his swift arms pushing the blaster in front of him and firing another green "bullet" at the airborne Poliwrath.

OOC: Lol, block-dodge. The block from Smash Bros. took most of the damage of the attack, and he rolled out of the way for the rest.

Once again Poliwrath couldn't really stop the impact, being ejected into air by his Hydro Pump assault! Its half open eyes, shuttered further as he watched Wolf's discharge, if he was hit and knocked off course from landing into the arena he may meet its burning oddment in Blaine's pit of fervor. The blast hit Poliwrath straight on its bellies achromatic bulge. It tumbled through the air, spinning creating a blur of dark blue and pallid colors.

The sky halted its heavy period of rainfall. The heavens opened it's radiant light once more by the darkened clouds shift making clearing for the burning afternoon sky. The new aura of the sky encouraged the heat cast forth from the volcanic rock below the two contenders.

Luckily the downcast creature came to and acted upon its fall. A great body of water came tumbling in broken segments from Poliwrath’s injured swirl. It seemed to be having trouble controlling its main attribute of its cobalt body. It began to spin its body in an anti clockwise direction. Instead of using its previous direction of a forward roll, it used a plain spinning one using thwe whole force of his large complex body. Eventually Poliwrath was able to make the water spouted from its swirl flow continuously creating a whirlpool, which he used to propel into the lava creating to create passage unto the arena flooring.

As whirlpool became smaller, Poliwrath floated upon lower until he broke the wave and landed feet first onto the blazing stadium floor. Anybody would be able to see the diminutive blackened graze, upon the Poliwrath’s lily white vortex, it shacked off the water that lay resting on it's back and stared into the wolf's sinewy eyes.

Wolf silently wiped his fur with the palm of his paw, trying to dry it as much as he could. Now that the rain had stopped, his movements hopefully wouldn't be hindered. Soon, he took a step towards Poliwrath, flashing his gray paws.

"You're pretty good. If you can fly as fluid as you move, you'd be some good help for Star Wolf," the leader of the mentioned group commented, nodding slightly after his words, as if he were assuring they were right. Just a few feet away from the Pokèmon he stopped, slightly crouching down to the level of Poliwrath. "Give me your name, and I'll look you up."

Again, that malicious grin crept onto the animal's face. If one didn't know any better, they would think he was plotting something.

Battle hardened that’s what Poliwrath was. He had remained perfectly still throughout the wolf-man’s brief halting of their preliminary battle. Even if His beautiful white eyes remained as tense as ever, he was still amazingly still but still devious.

As the beast bowed, the Poliwrath looked around for a tournament official it almost looked as if he had lost the battle, if it wasn’t for his malevolently charming grin. Words...just words yes Poliwrath had to admit his opponent was glowingly civilised for a fiendish beast. So he answered his name as it was what the wolf-man wanted “Poliwrath” the best he could, he sounded almost cheerful. Wolf informed him of some sort of outer star experience, yet he was so close either of them could make any move within a bolt of jolting lava. Poliwrath seemed interested, for a moment his eyes flickered in the afternoon sky.

His eyes were becoming less tense. Slowly the mighty arms of Poliwrath lifted, and he rested them upon his navy head or body...it was difficult to tell them apart when all Poliwrath really was. When all the Pokèmon was is a blue ball with slightly burly arms and legs.

OOC: Oh, nothing...

"Poli...wrath...?" Wolf asked slowly, raising a white eyebrow higher than the other. It wasn't a name like any other he had heard before, even sounding almost like another language to him. The names everyone he knew were given -- whether they knew it or not -- practically summed up what their appearance first showed someone. Wolf looked like a wolf. His rival, Fox, looked like a fox. But Poliwrath? One would assume the creature would be a large dragon, shaped like figures.

Wolf shrugged. He stood erect and took the machine off of his face, holding it in his hand. He juggled it a few times in his left hand before gripping it tight and tossing it up into the air. A few clinks later, the strap that once wrapped around his head found its way around a sharp stalagmite, sliding down until it couldn't anymore. Adding to the suspenseful effect, lava surrounded the rock, threatening to bubble and burn the machine.

"If you can retrieve that, I'll even make you second-in-command."
