Thanks for the comments, people. It seems that we will be going with c) for this chapter. Island, the first part of this chapter revolves around you, and every time you are mentioned your name will include a number of Condiments equal to a different multiple of 1,000 =/.

Second chapter - the focus shifts from Nikushimi to explore the intricate machinations bred in Island's and Kei's dominions.

Chapter 2: The Darkness Rising

The Lord of the South, Island of Ten Thousand Condiments, also known as 'The Eldest Sage', ruled his kingdom quite differently than his arch-rival Nikushimi. The government form was a constitutional monarchy, though in name only. Island had written all the laws of the nation, and he was perhaps the only one in the entire country to know by heart all 9,000 rules and regulations that orchestrated the political, economical, and military aspects of the country's life.

With so many laws, it was very difficult to refrain from breaking at least one or two per day, and due to the extremely efficient military police and the secret police agency that Island himself had established, any violation was immediately spotted and the perpetrators brought to justice. Once per day, ten random cases were brought to Island himself to judge personally, and his edicts were usually severe. Therefore, it was Island who was in absolute control of the nation's workings - the citizens just didn't really know it.

The Great Sage was now sitting comfortably on his enormous throne-like chair, in front of the table where two books were placed. One, an enormous scarlet tome titled 'Law & Order - by Island of 10,000,000 Condiments', was the feared book that contained every singe law of the nation. The other was a much smaller black book, without title. Only whispers were heard about this book - some said it contained Island's personal agenda, and that it was booby-trapped so that if anyone other than him tried to touch it, their hands would burn in a fountain of acid that would spread to their whole body, incinerating them instantly. Directly above him, a great banner hung, with black outlines that depicted the great ruler in the famous position of 'facepalm'.

The stance Island had currently assumed closely resembled that particular portrait. It was noon already, he had gone through nine extremely boring cases that he had punished appropriately, he was sleepy and tired and the only thing keeping him from a large hamburger with a generous portion of ketchup was one more decision he had to reach on a probably unimportant case.

Two men stood before the great ruler, both in a kneeling position, as required of those who appealed to Island personally. Something about the person to the left seemed to draw Island's attention momentarily - but he discarded it soon thereafter.

"Their names?" Island's personal secretary, Inuyasha16, asked sternly, glaring at the two.

"Super Cool, the victim. Star Platinum, the accused." The guard announced in a formal voice. Island cast another glance at Star Platinum.

"My great lord, I have brought witnesses." Super Cool pleaded desperately. "He assaulted me for no reason at all!"

Island frowned for a moment. He was not thinking about this insignificant case, of course - the decision had already been formed in his mind. But something about Star Platinum... intrigued him.

"Case closed, the victim will be executed." Island stated bluntly.

"WHAT?!" Super Cool screamed, but he was immediately silenced after a guard hit him on the head, throwing him to the floor.

"Verdict changed - the victim will be tortured before being executed." Island stated in an unpertrubed voice. "Reason: Violaction of Law 2,154 - The presence and validity of witnesses must be recorded and verified at least 3 days prior to the trial. Subsequently, Violation of Law 7,596 - No shouting in the presence of the Great Lord. Dismissed."

Super Cool could only cry in despair as he was dragged to the execution grounds. Island facepalmed, and glanced at Star Platinum, who was trembling before the presence of such a powerful man. If the victim was to be executed, what would happen to the one found guilty?

But Island merely made a signal, and Inuyasha16 announced that the session was over - the crowd dispersing and leaving the grand audience chamber. As Star Platinum made to leave though, he was barred by two crossed spears from the guards. At Island's nod, they left the room as well, leaving Island, Inuyasha16 and Star Platinum by themselves.

"Star Platinum, was it?" Island asked, his voice full of casual indifference. "Are you from around these parts?"

"Y-yes, Great Lord." Star Platinum muttered, bowing his head even further.

"Really?" Island persisted, his voice unchanged.

"Then I suppose you've never heard of the Organization called..."

"...#MFG?"

Star Platinum shivered, and even Inuyasha's eyes showed a look of mild surprise, as the cover of the #MFG agent was blown by the Sage's eyes of wisdom.

"Ah, it does ring some bells." Island continued, now sounding amused as sweat ran down Star Platinum's spine. "A traitor and a liar, then? These consist very severe violations, mr. Platinum. Very severe. And the punishment would be just as severe."

"Perhaps we could reach... an agreement, instead?"

The Great King Nikushimi was pacing up and down the throne room, Jonny America waiting patiently behind him. Finally, the King stopped, and glared outside the large windows. Signal fires had been lit atop numerous hills all over the realm, directing the gathering of the armed forces.

Finally, he spoke.

"We will reach out for the members of the ex-Numeros MFG party. I must admit, I don't like any of them, especially that Zer0 with his annoying tendency to get his hands on the latest Naruto chapters before I do... but they stood beside me in the Battle of Alakazam, and I guess they don't lack as much hatred as I once thought. The Senate... SS2 Vegeto's intentions may be pure, but Engel and Crayne have pretty high positions as well, and they are corrupting him... Crayne never liked me."


The King continued. "I suspect involvement between the #MFG and KuroiKenshi... I don't trust them one bit, particularly that Kei bastard."

"So that leaves the Numeros." Jonny said. "Should I go as an ambassador, my Lord?"

"No..." Nikushimi muttered. "Send burningvegeta - this guy used to be their bitch, I guess he can do the job better. I have another assignment for you, Jonny..."

"...a very important one..."

A man with a stout, but casual appearance was leaning back against the pillows of a large armchair on the edge of a wide room. On his lap, an ethereal creature was resting, a woman with beauty that was said to be matched by only a select handful in the entire Lands of MFG. Right now, she was giggling cutely as the man's left hand caressed her hair.

This man was perhaps the only man outside the Senate bar the four Great Kings who held a position of recognized authority in these Lands - the Leader of #MFG, Kei, and the woman sitting on his legs his sex slave, Ranny. Legend had it that Kei had almost starved once, because he was too bored to raise his arm and grab the food that was lying on the table in front of him.

Right now, Ranny was nudging Kei to put that right arm to good use as well - but Kei was actually too bored to do that. Instead, it hung loosely on the side of the chair.

Suddenly, the comfortably half-closed eyes of Kei whipped open, and his slightly stoned-looking expression changed into a rather grim one, before widening into a smirk. Ranny pinched Kei's arm angrily, demanding to know what was up.

"It seems that our spy has been discovered." Kei said, the grin never leaving his face. He pinched Ranny's nose. "But that's quite alright. I actually hoped for Island to discover him..."

"...because now, an even greater plan can be set in motion."

HerrGeiger, Amerowolf and Masked Felix, who were on the verge of opening the door to Kei's sanctrum, reconsidered once the Leader's maniacal laugh echoed through the compounds. In these times, Kei was best left alone.

Burningvegeta was riding across the Northern lands atop a brown stout mare, carefully shoed to avoid injury while rushing through the half-frozen territory that awaited further north. He was scowling - just a few hours earlier, he had been paid a visit by Jonny America himself, who had informed him in no uncertain terms that he was to go on a mission to the North and approach the remnants of his old group, the Numeros MFG, for an alliance.

He hated the prospect - he did not know how he would be received, after serving in Nikushimi's palace for so long; even though there was peace between them, there was deep, mutual hatred between Nikushimi and Zer0 - something about a race in the acquisition of the new manga chapters, which Zer0 seemed to be winning.

However, these were the Lands of MFG, and only pain awaited the careless - lost in thought, burningvegeta did not see the large stone flung against him, and he was stricken flat in the chest, thrown heavily on his back, as the slinger emerged from the shadows...

Lmao, Jonny. That was... entirely uncalled for, and you will be punished for that later in the story. As for Kei, I was just being in-character; when I talked to him on msn, half his sentences contained the words "I'm bored" O_o.

Well, as the majority wished, this chapter is going to feature Chuckles - it is also going to give some insight into a figure that remained in the shadows so far - Zer0, Leader of the Numeros.

Chapter 3: Riding the Storm

The dark cloaked figure looming above the seemingly unconscious form of burningvegeta, showered by the cold rays of the northern skylight, gazed mercilessly upon his opponent. Then, slowly, he retrieved a long blade from his cloak's belt...

"So long, intruder..." He said, his voice emotionless.

But suddenly, burningvegeta's eyes snapped open, and a shuriken was flung from his right hand. The figure was forced to step back to avoid it, in that motion not only leaving room for burningvegeta to jump to his feet, but also tossing back the hood of his cloak, revealing him to be...

"Who the fuck are you?!" Burningvegeta demanded, oblivious to the attacker's identity.

"Heh." The man said, a slight smirk crossing his face. "I am... the incarnation of all the pain from every single man and woman in these lands who has lived his life unrecognized, without identity, noone caring about his existence... I am a vengeful spirit formed by the shadow of the evil emotions harbored by those people... I used to be a man once, one just like them, and my mortal name was... Chuckles..."

"Chuckles? What the fuck, that sounds like a name from Pokemon." Burningvegeta snapped in reply.

"Silence, mortal!!" Chuckles yelled, anger flashing in his blood-red eyes. "You have trespassed upon my Realm, and thus you shall perish here. Tell me your name, so that I can engrave it upon your tombstone..."

"Ok seriously dude, you have got to get laid."

"Fine..." Chuckles replied, chuckling. "Then allow me to show you..."

"...a world of pain..."

Suddenly, the large TV screen turned into darkness, as Zer0 hit a button on the remote control.

"What the fuck, the first battle in this fanfic and it's a duel between two sidekicks? You've got to be fucking kidding me." He said angrily. "More rum, warcrack!" He yelled, and the slave of the former Numeros MFG hurried to comply with the Leader's wishes.

"We should complain to the writing staff." Majuub said sternly from the other side of the large conference table, slowly sipping his rum.

"There's a hair in my drink..." Broly muttered sadly, then went back to silent contemplating of existence.

"Anyway..." Zer0 said, scowling. "It appears that Nikushimi is going to war... it's too bad my hax0r vision cannot penetrate the walls of the Fang of Phear and the Claw of Hatred, otherwise I would have been able to extract some useful information for once..."

"What is important is, is it to our best interest to support him, or oppose him in the coming conflict?"

"I think..." warcrack started.

"Shut up warcrack." Zer0 commanded, and the Numeros Rookie fell silent.

"I think there is something that we should all hear beforehand though..." Zer0 continued. Suddenly, the few lights that illuminated the room were extinguished as if by a magical force, and the TV opened again, depicting a horrid form.

It was a black, shapeless shadow that was only distinguishable from the blackness around due to its darker shade. An evil smile and twin slitted eyes gaped like holes in the creature, or whatever devilry spawned from the deepest pits of hell it was, glaring at the three leading members of the Numeros MFG and laughing wickedly.

"Numeros MFG... it is a pleasure to meet you." The form said, and its voice was full of mockery and maliciousness.

"Wh-who are you...?" warcrack stuttered, huddling himself.

"Shut up warcrack." Zer0 said coldly. "This is the strongest power in our world, an evil even you may have heard of..."

"...Papa Chang."

"Hu hu..." Papa Chang whispered, his chuckle freezing the blood in warcrack's veins. "You've done your research, Lord of the Numeros."

"What are you here to say?" Zer0 crossed his arms, emitting a force of presence that could only be compared to Papa Chang's own.

"Well well... if you are so... adamant about knowing..."

"Before Nikushimi rides to war, there is one thing he will have to do..."

"...a dark prophecy, one that stems from the ancient times when Duo was still an Overlord..."

At the mention of Duo's names everyone froze - even Zer0 showed signs of discomfort.

"...there is one thing he will pursue..."

"...and that will be your chance to strike."

Lightning roared and the wind howled outside, showering Papa Chang's dreaded form with a horrid luster, as his laughter mingled with the sound of the wind, echoing across the inhospitable lands of the Far North, now the Homestead of the Numeros MFG.

Back on the dreaded wilderness that separated the core Nikushimi's kingdom from the Numeros' lands, the battle between the Shadow of Vengeance, Chuckles, and the ex-Numeros, Burningvegeta, raged, and somehow, even though Chuckles was - supposedly - just a ghost and had weapons, whereas Burningwegeta was unarmed, he was on the losing side.

"Grr... how can I be losing... to a mortal!" Chuckles growled, wiping a trickle of blood from his forehead, spilt from a particularly powerful cross-punch from burningvegeta's strong right arm.

"I told you, noone can defy the power of the Great King Nikushimi!" Burningvegeta yelled, assuming a defensive stance.

"Your vaunted King has no authority here, mortal." Chuckles stated boldly. "I did not want to use it, but... you leave me with no choice."

"Origami Arts #1: A Thousand Splitting Sketches!!"

Chuckles' body seemed to wrap and unwrap upon itself, and it finally shattered into trillions of sheets of paper, that were hurled against burningvegeta as if thrown by an invisible force. The brave Numeros was left with no time to react, and the paper folded around his arms, feet and neck, pinning him to the ground. From the remainder of the paper, a form resembling Chuckles appeared above him. A paper arm was produced, and it was holding a short, but somehow, even though paper-made, extremely sturdy and sharp-looking spear.

"Die, nameless Numeros." Chuckles said, and the Origami spear was thrust into Burningvegeta's stomach, piercing him right through.

Atop the highest balcony of the Claw of Hatred, the great King Nikushimi gazed down, letting his eyes feast on the sight of over nine thousand soldiers, armored to their teeth. The elite of the elite from the entire Northern Army, the fabled Legion of Phear had amassed to present arms to the King - the single most pheared combat battalion in the entire MFG. Trained soldiers, handpicked out of those who lacked the least hatred in the entire kingdom, ready to kill the enemy on sight, ready to die for the Lord of Phear, Nikushimi.

With so much ruckus, noone would notice a single figure, dressed in a black cloak, silently riding on an equally black horse, leaving the tower's stables, and heading to the west on a solitary journey... but were someone to see him, he would be rubbing his eyes in surprise, for the hunched, secretive man was no other than...

...Nikushimi?!?!

Flashback.

"Jonny... there is something I have to do, before I can lead my armies to war." Nikushimi stated. Unlike his previous cold, badass self, now he seemed... eager, a certain glow in his eyes - impatient.

"What is it, Great King?" Jonny asked.

"You see... there is a prophecy. A prophecy that may be but a legend, but that has to be fulfilled... by me." The King continued.

"A prophecy?" Jonny questioned. He had a pretty bizzare feeling about this.

"Yes." Nikushimi stated. "A prophecy that dictates that I will be the one to claim a powerful weapon, an engine of destruction without peer, a herald of the apocalypse, a tool of pure hatred, a work of art that would make even Deidara proud..."

"Who the fuck is Deidara?" Jonny asked.

"Anyway." Nikushimi continued. "To acquire that weapon, I must cross the Desert of Death, and traverse deep into the Land of the Banned, where I must face three trials... I must go alone, but as I proceed, I will gain allies to help me in my quest..."

"Okay seriously, I can ejaculate better prophecies than that when I'm stoned." Jonny scowled.

"As the King of the North, I can't simply vanish and go harvesting ancient artifacts, that's why I need you to take my place. We will use an ancient spell of transfiguration so that you can assume my physical appearance. You don't have to do much as a temporary King, just... keep the hatred high, and you should be fine."

"Do I also have to wear nail polish?" Jonny America growled, but Nikushimi was already on the door.

End of Flashback.

And as Nikushimi rode to the West on the wings of the impending thunderstorm, seeking to harness a power unlike anything the world had ever seen, his enemies prepared to make their move, and Jonny America, a promising but rather inexperienced young advisor, was left on a throne too big for his ass, to comandeer the Northern forces and fend them off alone.

But somewhere else, the solitary soul of a valiant fighter was ebbing away...
