I know ever author has their own way of writing but I want to know what you guys think is a good amount of papers you should have a chapter. This is for a Novel and I'm using Microsoft word. I usually write 2-4 pages for each chapter does this sound long enough to you?

Well, there's obviously no "correct" answer. It depends on what kind of story you are writing and, perhaps most importantly, what kind of writer you are. You may want to write big, full-fledged chapters, each of which fulfills a satisfying part in the storyline, or separate your work into multiple smaller ones which suit a more fast-paced style.

But if you want a general guideline... well, for a low- or high-fantasy story like the ones I usually write, 3,000 words per chapter is a decent size in my view. Don't know how many pages on paper that is, since I always type on Word.

There's no one good length for all chapters. They should be whatever length they need to be to cover the point of the chapter. Some may be 4 pages, some 12, others just half a page. Though my own in the works novel seems to average around 7 pages a chapter.
