Dragonball: Goku's journy - Page 2

Chapter 3: Goku's completed mind training...

Goku has been meditating all night, and doesn't seem to be awake. He is sitting on the ground, his eyes closed, and seems to have cleared his mind completely. Mr. Popo slowly and carefully walks out of the temple. He picks up a rock and walks towards Goku.

If he fell asleep, then this probably isn't a very good idea but... Mr. Popo went over the plan in his head. He then chucked the rock, and it shattered inches away from his pupil's face, without any detectable movement!

"Hello Popo. Why'd you interrupt? That was so wierd feeling...Like I was nobody...Like I didn't exist and I was just floating in space somewhere...Kinda like being asleep, but I coud observe the world at the same time...And I couldn't think...Like my brain left my head..." Goku described.

"Goku, could you tell me how you destroyed that rock?" Of course, Popo already knew the answer, but he wanted to make sure Goku was using the right method.

"Sure, I just punched it. It was kinda an instant reflex, I didn't really have to think about it at all. Popo, what are you doing awake so late?" Goku's eyes were closed, and he had no clue what time it was. In his meditation, time did not exist.

"Goku, its morning."

"Really!? Wow, maybe I did fall asleep...Then again, that wouldn't make much sense...Unless that was all a dream..."

"Unless what was a dream?"

"Observing the world. I could see Krillen, Tien, Choutzu, and Yamcha were on their way to Korin's tower. I also saw Piccollo. He dosn't sleep. He just meditates all night. I saw him grow at least two feet over night! And fr a quik second, our meditations fused together, and we communicated kinda. If I wanted to, I coulda said hi, or he coulda, but he just sat there trying to scare me, and I just sat there trying to send a message...A message that I'm not scared of him anymore..."

"Goku, you and Piccollo are becoming better and better aqcauinted. You should use these opportunities to explore his mind, and learn of his techniques."

"I tried that. I managed to sneek a peek at some of his moves, but I realized that I was leaving my mind open for him to do the same thing, so I stopped before he did."

"Good thinking Goku. From now on, every night, you will replace sleep with meditation, as Piccollo does. During the morning, you will exirsize however you please. In the early afternoon, I will give you an assignment each day, then Kami will tech you that day's lesson, afterwards leaving you to train on that lesson, and finnally giving you a test at the end of each day before meditation. I suggest you go stretch now, and do whatever warm ups you need."

"Ok." Goku jumped onto his feet and started running faster than lightning in a circle around the lookout. He repeated these laps many times over and over again.

7 hours later, at 12:00 noon, Mr. Popo stopped Goku.

"Goku, I want you to continue this running, but wearing this," Mr. Popo instructed.

"A blue shirt? Sure," Goku said as he changed out of his orange shirt and into the blue one. He instantly fell to the floor. "What's this thing made out of!?"

After learning to run as fast as he normally would with the waited shirt, Popo gave him waited shoes and wristbands as well. The process was repeated.

Goku suddenly felt a strange feeling. Most teenagers his age learn to wear what's cool to impress the ladies, and almost as instinct, Goku put the orange shirt over the blue shirt.

"Uuuuuhhh..." Popo didn't really understand. Goku had someone in his mind. Goku was thinking about a girl he had met in his search for the dragonballs. He was thinking of the ox-king's daughter, Chi-chi. For some reason, Goku couldn't get her out of his mind.

At 3:00 PM, Kami emerged from his temple. He was carrying the book he had shown Goku the prevous day, and an extra copy.

"Goku, take this book," he instructed as he gave Goku the extra copy. "I trust Roshi taught you to read?"

"Yeah, and to count. That's how I know I'm fifteen now...Er, maybe sixteen...I don't know when my birthday is, haha, but I know the general amount of time its been since I was born."

"Good, turn to page thirtysix."

"Uh, the title says 'Crane style'."

"Yes, that is what we're learning today. As passage one staes, the crane's teachings focus more on the control of spiritual energy than the Turtle does..." Kami went on. After teaching the lesson, he gave his student an assignment. "I have explained how, now try to fly. Spend the rest of the day in the air once you've mastered the technique."

Goku tried flying, and came close many times, but couldn't master it by nightfall.

"Darn! Hey, um, Popo? Should I keep trying or start meditating?"

"Meditate, but don't focus on observing the world. Instead, focus on flying."

Goku did as Popo said, and when he was interrupted by Popo the next moring, he noticed he was in the air.

"I--I'm flying! I can't believe it I'm flying!" Goku's warm up for that day was speed-flying in laps around the lookout.

Sorry this is so short, but I'm in a hurry to get to bed. See ya next time.

YOU want tips from ME on how to write a fic? Well this one goes for anything here on the forums, not just fics: Don't piss of other members. A good way to follow that tip when it comes to a fic is don't make fifty fics at once...I learned that one the hard way...

Oh...cmon . You know about that too ?
That wasn't really a tip. I was just giving a positive comment but then you cant be nice in return?

Not write a fic i already made two . DB Af, and Ken 10 Vs Kevin 11 : fight to the finsh

I actully got more positive coments on the ben 10 fic than the dbz fic
I really douht people read the dbz af one.

I think you should start putting some action in it. I know it's good to start out easy and so.
Thats how my ben 10 fic is going for now.
Not intil the upper chapters, the fic is going have more action less peace.

Hehe....sorry temper got high again.

Nah, haven't been reading too many fics. I'm gona try to find time to skim through just about every fic here (well, all the DBZ and Naruto ones and your Ken 10 thingy) so that I can get some decent entertainment in the Hollywood world Earth has turned into where ya can't tell if what yer watching is cannon but it is entertaining and--woah...I almost over-talked again.
