Seriously, I'm all for the notion that Itachi has far more up his sleeves than he's shown so far, but we always, always need to assume his shown / stated ability to be his prime. You're missing that notion, at times >_>.

You wouldn't expect me to read 20 pages of nonsense about how because someone can resist Henka Beam, he is invulnerable to all sort of non-physical attacks, would you? I read up to fifth page, occasionally threw a comment when I felt there was a hint of a rational argument to be made - but basically, even though the result of this match-up is quite obscure, objectively, none of the Vegito supporters showed any convincing evidence, and I didn't care enough to do so, so I just read the points of interest and left it at that. As with most of the other Itachi vs ?? topics.

When Itachi states that he can cast Genjutsu other ways besides eye contact, he says "even with just a finger", implying that that was not only easy for him to do, but that there is a wide variety of other ways he can cast Genjutsu.
