CoD ~ R1 M5 [Eragon (Ichigo) vs RandomPenguin (Rock Lee)]

Location: The Flying Dutchman. Unlike its name would suggest, the Flying Dutchman is very much a ship. Endless fields of blue stretched all around the infamous ghost ship, the sun already sinking beyond the horizon. Majestic as the giant manowar appeared, it hid a horrible secret - thousands of unfortunate souls doomed to be trapped within its unholy confines began slowly emerging as the last golden rays of the sun spread an orange light to the sea. In this accursed place would the two combatants fight for dear life, and while the undead would not interfere with the living, they could easily prove a deadly distraction.

Time of Day: Dusk.

OOC: Well, we've already have a Bleach and a Naruto-themed arena, so I went for some variety. Should pose no problems to either. Good luck, enjoy yourselves.

Lee eyed his opponent across the length of the ship "i mustn't get scared of the ghosts now, i will win this fight for Gai-Sensei" he thought to himself but then his eyes got fixated on Ichigos Weapon "d-dammit thats a pretty big sword i hope it's only for display i might have to go all out against him." again he thought this time more insecure about the battle that was about to commence.

The raven coloured robes of the warrior before Lee was as familiar to the ghostly crew as their mere presence was to their wearer- he had been aware of their existence all his life and their gathering to this fight seemed to bother him less than the awkward swaying of the vessel upon which they were perched. A number of times already, the orange-haired youth had lost his balance and almost gone skipping along the deck, only for the sandals strapped over white, sock-like clothing to catch and for him to re-assert himself and his stance once again.

Speaking of which, it wasn’t a particularly professional way to fight; he stood almost -but not quite- straight backed, and fixed his opponent with a scowl, his spiky hair swept clear of brown-coloured eyes. His weapon of choice, a huge cleaver like blade with a bandage wrapped where the hilt should have been, rested upon his shoulder and was grasped lightly, in what one might almost call a yakuza pose. His face seemed to resonate a stereotypical ‘tough guy’ aura… something the serous expression didn’t change.

“Ichigo Kurosaki, substitute soul reaper!” he announced, introducing himself to his oddly attired opponent and ignoring the ghosts upon the deck… at least, for the moment. Right now, his attention was focused upon this tournament... stopping hollows could wait.

Lee stared down his opponent then a smile came across his face "i will fight you with honor Ichigo, and i will dedicate my victory to my Sensei." he then lept towards the substitute Shinigami at a high speed spinning his leg round towards the Ichigo in the process "see if you can block this" Lee said in his care-free way.

The straight-to-battle attitude of the young shinobi seemed to catch Ichigo off-guard for a moment; at any rate, Lee’s sudden rush caused him to blink rapidly, even as a broad smirk across his features. A loud crash ran throughout the vessel, as though it had run aground, and the air itself seemed splintered as shockwaves rippled through it.

The strawberry kid grinned over the edge of his sword, its hilt grasped tightly by both hands, and with its blade angled so that Lee’s kick had connected resoundingly with its black exterior. A well polished edge glinted, throwing one of the final rays of light back in his adversaries face, and Ichigo grinned confidently.
“Heh, caught you,” he declared, almost in a care free manner with a laugh- as if there were nothing else to say, he pushed against his sword, as though to swing it- an action obviously designed to throw Lee as far away from him as possible, or even better overboard.

‘I’ve got better things to do than waste time here…’

The force of the push was enough to throw Lee flying across the boat through each spirit, he then felt pain as his back impacted one of the wooden walls towards the back of the ship.

Slowly Lee got up panting "this time i'll come at you harder" Lee smirked as he started running with great speed towards the mast at the center of the boat he then put on leg against the mast and his momentum pushed him running up the mast vertically he finished this great show of speed with a graceful backflip off the mast. while yelling "Leaf Whirlwind" In mid air Lee brought his leg spinning towards Ichigo in what he hoped to be a combo of extreamly fast kicks.

“Heh.”

A tone of arrogance floated from the youth at the sight of his opponent driven backwards. Shifting his grip upon his sword so it was grasped in a much more natural pose, with its tip towards the green clad ninja, Ichigo bending his knees and leaning forwards slowly. He twisted his hands against the bandages of his blade, and grinned confidently, as though the battle was already won- an expression which changed to befuddled shock and confusion as Lee promptly rebounded to his feet and dusted himself off, amiably declaring to attack even harder than before and springing towards the mast of the ship.

The shinigami’s jaw slackened.
‘Shit!’ he screamed at himself, scolding not only the complacency, but the shock that accompanied it- that was something he couldn’t afford to feel in a fight. As the young leaf ninja’s foot descended towards his face, however, he suddenly vanished- the weighted leg would crash into the ship and splinter wood ineffectively, harmless to the male who skidded to materialisation at the opposite end, unless of course one included the threat of drowning he had potentially started. He seemed surprised, but nonetheless, a grin formed, as though he enjoyed the challenge he’d just been afforded.

“I didn’t think I’d have to use flash steps here… little snot…” he admitted, grudgingly but respectfully, settling back into the same pose as before, and giving another twist o his sword.
“This fight’ll be fun…”

The splinters rose around his foot as he missed the target. Lee turned round as ichigo asked him his name "My name is Rock Lee" he then realised that Ichigo mustave been fast to dodge the attack at the speed he was attacking. Lee once again launched himself at the Shinigami this time even faster then before he proceeded to try to strike a powerful punch against Ichigo's face.

This time, his assault landed squarely; possibly taken by surprise at the sudden redoubling of efforts, Ichigo failed to dodge and Lee’s fist struck the centre of his face with a solid thud. The force threw him directly backwards, his limbs becoming limp for a moment, yet retaining a fierce grip upon his sword. The momentum swung him away from his adversary, directly towards the edge of the boat… yet, mid-ay as if regaining his composure, his expression switched from pain to grit and sheer determination, he flipped and Ichigo Kurosaki landed upon the edge of the ship. He was clearly in a precarious position and seemed about ready to topple into the sea behind him, but he was still around- sword and all.

Cautiously, he blinked, and reached out a foot behind him, tentatively testing the air, before returning his glance to Rock Lee. A smirk lit his expression, as he heaved the blade vertically into the air.
“Alright… try dodging this- Getsuga Tenshou!”

There was a low buzz within the air, of what Lee knew as chakra, Ichigo, spirit energy. An immense pressure seemed to cry out from the sword, almost oppressively as it pierced the air- the ext instant, it’s master swung it downwards, and a huge beam surged forwards, towards the opposing ninja, tearing down the ship as it did.

At this rate, would there be anything left of the Flying Dutchman?

Lee started in dismay at the strange jutsu coming towards him "he didn't use a single seal this is bad..." he thought but then he realised he still had his trump card. he started running towards the blast while ripping the wieghts he wore around his body off each falling instantly direcly through every deck of the boat making water start to bubble up. with his weights off Lee's speed rose immensly as he neared the Blast heading towards him, he now neared the blast he oculd feel it's energy radiating out of it... "i have to do it now" he finally concluded "Initial Gate Open" he yelled as he ran towards the blast seemingly running through it while yelling "Heal Gate Open" (heals all wounds) he then proceeds to yell out the chant "Life Gate Open...Harm Gate Open" this time his face turns red and you can see the veins along his forehead which show the strain his body is at, but his speed almost multiplies ten-fold as does his strength making the Green aura now forming around him expand.

As Lee Finally reachs his target he kicks Ichigo into the air with a set up of highly powered kick combos he then proceeds to undo the white bandage around his arms and wraps Ichigo in the tape securely with little chance of escape, with Ichigo secure he chants the release of his final gate "Limit Gate Open" this gate unleashs the Final Limits his mind had on his muscles and he then proceeds to rotate down wards causing a huge spiral headed for the boat with Ichigo in the center head first "Ura Renge!!!!!" Lee yells his voice strained by the pressure on his already weakening body...

this is it i opened all five gates and unleashed my most powerful move... also i had to research up the exact effects of the Heal gate lol.. for the moment it is openedthe body gets heal all wounds like ability... which will explain me heading right through the blast...

The look on Ichigo’s face had barely changed during Lee’s assault- he hadn’t had time to dodge, time to move or time to block. Instead, the stunned expression reflected the thought that raced through his mind, Lee’s reaction to Getsuga Tenshou, a reaction that caused him to almost drop the cleaver in awe. He hadn’t merely dodged it, or blocked it; as he roared the words ‘Heal Gate’, the tears and burns of his uniform revealed that he hadn’t even been harmed by his exposure to Ichigo’s shikai.

‘He just… ran through the Getsuga Tenshou…!’

A crack ran through the air and the substitute soul reaper doubled over with pain, as Lee’s foot plated itself into his gut, the sheer force behind it quickly sending him airborne. He ground his teeth, resonant with frustration, groans of pain audible over the thunderous crash of blows; through it though as he was bounced through the sky like a rag doll and his limbs flailed, his grip upon Zangetsu never slackened, as though, having borne the blade through so many battles and from this world to the next to whatever world this was, he was incapable of relinquishing it; instead, as the ribbons suddenly bound around his body, snapping his arms to his side, he felt the cool blades steel against his bare forearms… and, much more menacingly, it’s tip pressed against his neck.

For a single instant, the strawberry-head caught sight of the ship far beneath them and his pupils shrunk, shooting back to the child who held him. As the tornado descent began, his eyes switched between them- the crimson-skinned male and the crumbling ship beneath them, mixing into one another into a kaleidoscope of disorientation and imminent, approaching doom. No doubt Lee could feel his struggling- he was certainly making an attempt to thrash against his paper prison, even going so far as to chew at them. Much more debatable was whether or not the taijutsu ninja could see the odd, bleached flecks that had begun to gather around his adversary’s face, or if he could sense the ominous energy emanating from the sword grasped at his chest. Ichigo himself seemed unaware of the latter, his focus entirely upon this battle…

‘Shit! Shit, shit, shit, shit…!’
‘Heh, looks like you’re in a bit of a bind… partner…’

As if he had suddenly gained new resolve, Ichigo flexed his muscles, and first of the ribbons snapped. A chill laugh pierced the air, one which seemed unnaturally in this Mediterranean air, and which would have sent shivers running down the spine of even the bravest of warriors.

The wrappings groaned once more; a series of rips ran through the air, and the warrior splayed out newly freed arms with a manic laugh as though unaware of his situation. As he did, he turned his face towards Lee, piercing him with an eye that had turned yellow against black scalera and allowing him to set sights upon the mask that had appeared down one side o his face, split only by a broad-faced grin of madness. Still chuckling, he heaved his blade, one handed towards Lee, spinning his body as he did. There was no real strategy involved in the gesture, nothing to avoid the rapidly approaching pirate ship. Indeed, he almost seemed overjoyed at the situation he had found himself in, and when he spoke, it was with a loud pitched squeal, much different that it had been before, and much more menacing, murderous intent in it’s undertones.
