Raven sent me lots of tutorials, but they must've been deleted when I cleaned out my PM Box. Well, I read a short tutorial or two, and I'm starting to understand how the Pen Tool works. However, I suck at it. I need some better tutorials than random DeviantArt tuts. Does anybody know of some they could spare? Island would really appreciate it. :/

Well if you want to render stuff, it's mostly about skill. There's nothing much to know about the pen tool. (Unless you want to render hair which is a real pain in the sensitive spot)
Few things about the pen tool. Using alt+pull mouse you can switch the bend to the next anchor point. Usually when rendering, you aught to zoom in up to the point where you can still see the edge between the background and the render, but have a good view of the curves. Also don't use too much anchor points to do straight edges. It turns out choppy and ugly. Using 0,5-1px feather can help out on those ugly white lines around your render. Everything else is basically on your hands stirdyness, skill and patience. Note: These are the things I know about RENDERING AND MAKING SHAPES, not pen tool in general. However I haven't found many other uses for it... Hope you found this useful.

It's also good for creating trails of sparks and just an all around powerful web design tool if you lack a tablet.
