The only present I got for my birthday was a set of india ink pens. And I've been using them.
![]() Authors. Hermann Hesse, Edgar Allen Poe, Fredrick Nietzsche, Leo Tolstoy, And Jack London. I'm actually pretty unhappy with how Jack turned out. He deserves better than what my stupid fingers could muster. ![]() 1984 related picture. I'm only allowed to draw in my British Literature class if it pertains to what we are doing. ![]() 1984 again. I felt Big Brother should look less like Stalin and have stylish knobs instead. >_> Oh, and look like some insecure white man. ![]() This is actually blue and not grey, but the color doth not work on my scanner. I was playing with Daniel Clowes art style from Ghost World. |

Those are stunning. Your attention to detail is uncanny, & those pens may have been your only birthday gift but it looks like they were chosen wisely. Keep up the great work

The faces are well done being that I don't have to turn the page upside down to recognize them. Before you place a line, think about why it belongs there. Apparently, that helps articulate more realistic portrait, but I have yet to try it out. GJ on the rest as well, though I feel a bit lost in perspective on the second one.

Wow, I really like the last one. The different structures and the various uses of ink is interesting. Keep up the good work.

Wow, Amero. JUST WOW.
These are great. <3 You could focus on shading more in the cityscapes, add more ominous feel to it. But other than that, the contrast is awesome and ink is a hard media to master. D: Well for me anyway D:.

Funny, I always saw Big Brother with high-cheekbones, piercing eyes, bushy eyebrows & 'stache, and a military uniform. In fact, I think that's how he was portrayed in the movie. I don't remember. Your version of him is very well-drawn. He looks different than what I would expect. However, there's one major flaw. You forgot the word 'BIG' before 'BROTHER.'

The 'Big' in big brother is actually inside the word brother, it's just small...I was sort of playing with something I saw on a NIN Year Zero propaganda poster.
But yeah, I haven't seen the movie. But a man with absolute power needs too look like and insecure white man. The 'stache with knobs was really for my own amusement. |

Woah, these are good.
But isn't contradictory to have the word "Big" so little? =/ |

I like the first one best. Great facial details, love the shading too. Keep up the good work.
