I see....this is one clever masterpiece Madara is making....perhaps I will write a book using this type of plot...Make-Out Dimensions.....
Jiraiya's cheeks flushed slightly with red as he stared back at Pein.
It will be best to avoid a conflict here. I've already fallen to him once, I cannot activate Hermit Mode in my current condition, and Orochimaru might join in against me...

"....The last I saw of Itachi was back at an arena close to the pub."

Orochimaru sighed, having found out what he wanted to know, this confrontation no longer interested him. He turned and began to descend back into the burrow, before slightly turning his head.

"I'm going back. There's rabbit cooking if you two are hungry". Orochimaru had been called many things in his time, but never inhospitable, to a point. At the very least he gave people a dry cell to rot in.

Pein nodded in relative satisfaction - Jiraya would not lie in this situation. Why would he, after all - Itachi's death should be a common goal between the three, at least.

Then, a word clung in Pein's ears, echoing in his mind over and over again, continuously shattering all that Pein was, is, and would be to fragments, enforcing upon him a whole new view of reality and existence. He stood there, unable to comprehend the magnificent genius of the twist events had taken, as that single word changed everything.

He whipped his head around, facing his former subordinate.

"Orochimaru..." He whispered, the words hoarse and blurred in his ears.

"How..."

He took a deep breath, the significance of what he was about to say weighing heavily upon his entire being like a burden of lead.

"...did you cook the rabbit?"

Jiraiya's face drew blank. ....wait~....
Jiraiya slowely turned his head over to Orochimaru as confusement controlled his face. Eyes twitching ever so constantly....

"Konoha Hijutsu: Makeshift Rotisserie", Orochimaru smiled, satisfied at the utter confusion that had been wrecked upon the helpless conversation.

"It's unseasoned, though, so if you see anything tasty growing around, bring it along." And with that, he disappeared into the tunnel.

Pein was now suffering, as the beautiful scent of the perfectly cooked rabbit reached his nostrils.

"Screw Itachi, it's rabbit time." He declared, and he rushed inside.

Pulling out an abnormally massive pack of ramen that should not have been able to fit beneath his cloak under any circumstances (who would rush blindly into the unknown without the neccessary provisions?), he sat down, greedily observing the roasted animal.

[OOC: This is no joke, rabbit is Pein's major weakness and the secret Jiraya could have exploited to defeat him]

Jiraiya stands their silently as he tried to figure out what just happened. He brought up his left hand covering up his face, and looked up to the limited sky through a hole made from separating his index and middle.
Sighing, he made his way over to the tunnel, jumped down hoping to land in an epic pose. As he approached what he thought was ground, he extended his arms straight out along with his right leg towards the appraoching ground. What he didn't know was....it was mud.
Right when his foot hit the mud, Jiraiya slid off flailing and wailing as he flipped through the air, eventually crashing into the ground. Tears ran down his face as he laid there.

Pein is also a hideous crime against... well, humanity. Maybe he should be deleted from the manga =/. Anyway, we'll stop here. Meh, it was just some random fun in a non-canon topic, so yeah.

Anyway, delete these few last posts if you want to. They fulfilled their purpose to extract some lulz.

The snakes, after being assured of no danger by Orochimaru returned to their dens. They needed their sleep. Training began tomorrow.

As the snakes withdrew themselves, Pein glanced at Orochimaru for an instance, completely ignoring Jiraya.

"You..." He said, his voice sounding... not uncertain, but perhaps a tad bit hesitant. "You wanted to acquire Itachi's body, correct? A body with the Sharingan..."

Even though the other two Shinobi couldn't see him, they still heard Orochimaru's footsteps come to a sudden halt. Orochimaru was silent for a moment, contemplating the offer. For Pein to offer such a prize to attempt to enlist a marked man of ten years was strange indeed. On the other hand, the man behind the rippling, Rinnegan eyes wanted to bring about the destruction of the ninja world. Who knew what Madara was after, though it was plain that Itachi had opposed him.

"A Sharingan that has lost it's light", Orochimaru said, choosing his words carefully, " even that of Uchiha Itachi, is of no use to me". In all honesty, he couldn't perform the body transfer technique even if he wanted to. His current body wasn't strong enough to form into the White Snake. However, it was rarely wise to give a potential enemy a blueprint of your abilities and weaknesses of your own accord.

"To reverse the question, Pein, in such a pitiful state that Itachi is now, what could even his death merit you?"

"Madara wants Itachi dead. That is enough reason to be here."

"As for Itachi's Sharingan..." Pein hesitated for a moment.

"There is a way to restore the light in a blinded Sharingan, according to Madara. By claiming the eyes of his brother, Madara revived his eyesight and made his power permanent. Itachi attempted to do the same, but failed. However, Sasuke is still alive. Aid me in defeating Itachi, and I will let you claim Itachi's body. Use that body to acquire Sasuke's eyes, and you will accomplish what you desire."

"In return..."

"...once Itachi has been defeated, you will submit your own body to me. Since I lost one of my bodies recently" he cast a sidelong glance at Jiraya, which held neither anger nor contempt though "I've found myself looking for a replacement." Like Orochimaru, Pein avoided revealing his weakness, which was his inability to transfer all of his bodies through the Mangekyou-wrought portal in this dimension.

Then again, there could be much more that Pein was avoiding to reveal.

"Jiraiya", Orochimaru's voice came once again from the darkness, "You say that you saw Itachi. What do you know of his condition?"

Jiraiya, standing observant of the two, eyed over towards the tunnel as Orochimaru asked. "...Apparently he has been in a fight lately...though I'm sure Pein could fill you in on that, but do you still plan on obtaining the eyes of those you cannot gain?"

Jiraiya smirked as he stared down that tunnel. "You know~, in my recent skirmish with him. he mumbled something about Sasuke..."
