"I'm afraid you've got the wrong man. Whoever this "Yu" person is, I am not him" the deadringer answered. Sweat drops rolled down Lavi's forehead as he realized the mistake. What kind of Bookman was he, unable to tell the difference between Kanda and the stranger. With his head cleared Lavi realized that the robed man had called out to him "Hold your horses Bozo!" he responded.

Turning his attention back to the stranger he still had to admit there was quite a resembelance. This fellow could pass off as Kanda's older brother. "Tell me stranger, what's your name and...do you happen to have a younger brother?"

Itachi's eyes shot wide open for an instant before quickly dimming back to their lifeless stare. He couldn't allow himself to show any surprise, else he risk exposing himself as one reputed to be a dangerous criminal. Turning his head gently, he could only gaze with forlorne, unseeing eyes into the empty bowl on the table before him- that, too, he could not see.

"Yes, I have a younger brother." he muttered solemnly, "I am afraid, however, that I cannot tell you my name."

Can't tell me his name Lavi pondered. His eyes turned serious trying to assess the situation at hand. There are probably two reasons he would not want to reveal his name. If he was working for the government as an agent or more likely...a wanted criminal. Judging by the stranger's appearance he doesn't seem to be much of a threat, at least for now Lavi thought to himself.

"So then stranger, how should I address you then?" he asked. "I take it you won't tell me your brother's name either."

Suji, at this point had become rather annoyed. He reached out and grabbed the spiky red head by the collar. Pulling him out of his previous engagement and up to his face he yelled, "Listen kid, I've got a very small threshold for annoyance you're crossing it real-" He paused for a moment and let out a large sigh. "Whatever, kid, you're not worth my time." he said as he released his grip on the collar. Suji rose from the candy bed and began making his way to the door. "I'm gonna get some air." he said, turning back to the house's other inhabitants, "I need to cool off for a bit."

As he began pushing the door open he paused. Looking back one last time he said, "His brother's name is Sasuke by the way. Dumb kid wouldn't shut up about him, even when he was on the brink of death." Picturing Itachi on the forest floor, wretched and wounded, lifted the demon's spirits quite a bit, and he exited the cottage chuckling.

"Sasuke...!!" Itachi whispered, his eyes shooting wide open as he grabbed his chest in pain, "Ugh! Ghack...!!"

He raised his other hand to his mouth just in time to block the spray of blood that followed his coughing, though some of it flew through his fingers. He doubled over in pain and began breathing heavily, shooting a murderous glare at Suji as he left the house. It couldn't be said what exactly was wrong with him, but whatever it was, he was still injured. His vision flickered for an instant, then settled at its usual hazey blur. He could only let out a sigh as he rested his head on the table, face-down.

“More soup?” the elder questioned, offering out a small wooden bowl, with a matching oak spoon, “Young man like yourselves need your strength. In bitter conflict, who else is to defend us?” he laughed, “Certainly, you cannot expect an old man like me to fight your battles. Eat up, have some soup. Drink some tea.” As he finished, Velox turned his attention toward the stove to the right of the caldron. On it was an empty pot. Although he had no tea to give his guests, he would soon come through. With a variety of herbs and hot water, the sage soon had a boiling pot of what would soon be green tea, “Itachi-kun, how can you be so reckless? You need rest and relaxation. Please calm down and wait patiently for your entrée.”

OOC- I think the more important question is...how does Velox know Itachi's name? D:


Itachi froze in his seat. For a few moments, he remained stoic. How had this man found out his name? Could he have recognized him? No, that didn't seem likely. If that were the case, why would he be brought to this place, fed, and had his wounds treated? Something about it just didn't add up.

"You know my name?" he questioned politely, trying not to seem unnerved by this rather significant revelation.

OOC: He put one and one together. He met Itachi in the forest, when all he was saying was "Sasuke"...maybe I stretched it a bit. ;>_>.

The cool night air blew gently on the demon's face. It was a nice refreshing breeze. Suji looked up to the night sky, which was now covered by a thick layer of storm clouds. "Damn it," He said. "I really hate the rain."

He turned back and re-entered the cottage. He made no effort to speak or even glance at the house's other inhabitants. He even made his way to the side opposite Itachi and his spiky-headed friend. "Hey, Velox is it?" He said, leaning against the wall. "That soup gonna be ready some time this year?"

“Yes, I do,” he spoke softly, before shifting his attention to Suji, “It was finished a few minutes before you left,” he pointed out, “The wounded took the liberty of taking a few bowls himself. I suggest you do the same if you want to keep your strength up. As for me, I have a meal to cook. Care to stay?” With that, Velox shot a direct glance at Uchiha Itachi for a brief movement, “So cautious. However, I suppose a name says a lot about one’s self,” He thought, “I shouldn’t get him riled up now. If he strains himself, it could have negative effects on his physical and mental health. Perhaps I spoke too soon… Ho ho, I’m an old man. I’m allowed to slip once and awhile.”
